If you like hotdogs and you like them quick, this spot’s for you. No frills. I came for a quick lunch. I got the #1 combo hotdog (ketchup, mustard, relish, no onion), fries and a drink for $8.63. The hotdogs are 100% beef. I thought there would be more to it like, a lot of fixings to add to your hotdog. But I didn’t see that. However, they do have burgers, cheesesteaks and some other things on the menu. I’m not a huge hotdog fan but it was cheap, quick and satisfying. And the fellas taking and making the orders were very nice and funny/friendly.

They not only offer authentic Chicago hot dogs, but they also have Italian beef, Italian sausage for the beef and sausage combo, and true Maxwell Street Polish sausage. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Skips serves the best Chicago dogs around! Their Italian beef is amazing, too—just make sure to get it dipped. Whenever I'm in Avondale, I always make a point to stop by. I definitely recommend Skips to all you cool cats out there!
I absolutely adore this place! I enjoy it so much that I often forget to take pictures! The hamburgers are just as delicious as the hot dogs. UPDATE: We visited again the other day, and it was just as great as always! I actually remembered to take some pictures this time!
