I've had lunch/brunch here quite a few times, but mostly some years back. Since moving to Kew and being right up the road I was stoked to be so close to Snow Pony. Since my last visit they've rejigged the layout up front and seemed to lose a heap of seating space to the massive front counter ware. Menu sort of seems the same, but perhaps less options. The almost-too-cool hipster vibes and crowd are nowhere to be seen. The staff while efficient we're quiet bland and not super friendly or welcoming. The food was ok, nothing like I recall from my previous visit. We had a toastie with a side of fries along with the pulled pork burger which came with sweet potato chips. Dropped in for a coffee here whilst waiting for my wife. The muffins looked good and after confirming they were made fresh on site each morning I ordered one raspberry muffin and a dirty chai latte. (Why not!) I took a seat at an outside table on a pleasant morning in Deepdene!The dirty chai latte was perfect and I ordered a second when prompted by the staff.Muffin only had one fresh raspberry in it and the rest was just flavored raspberry. I expected fresh or even frozen raspberries inside my muffin so that was a little disappointing. Fresh raspberries would have kept it more moist than it was as well but It was still tasty though.Not a destination cafe but good if you're in the area.
Visited for a team meeting. $25 for what was essentially an avocado and feta coated piece of toast and a large latte. Still feeling hungry and also ripped off. Wouldn't mind the higher than usual price tag so much if I felt satisfactorily fed and my meal had been more interesting (avo smash with poached egg). The layout of this place is chaotic and uncomfortable - toilet interesting. Staff were friendly and efficient enough though
Snow Pony is a lovely little cafe off busy Whitehorse Road. It is charming with nice outdoor/indoor areas to dine at and great service staff. The only let down was the food which was average and seriously lacking on the price/size equation. It felt like a huge outlay for a little meal. With so many other good offerings in the area, I will probably steer clear unless I'm assured of a heartier meal.

Been at this place 3 times it wasn't because its great I came back , just waiting for dentist so pop in ! Some dish are great. And some very disappointed ! The restaurant not very clean either ! Or because it's old I'm Not sure but can be improve ! 3 times is plenty so not looking forward to come back any time soon ! Service can be good and bad depend on which waiter or waitress on the day LOL
We popped in here for lunch on Anzac Day and were very pleased to find it not only open but buzzing. We tried the big breakfast and it was delicious.Loved the mushrooms and crispy bacon especially. Staff very friendly and attentive. We would gladly come back here anytime. Only struggle was parking but that's what you expect on Whitehorse Rd.
I make the effort to go to Snow Pony every time I am in Melbourne. The smashed avocado is my favourite in Australia - with dukkah and corn salsa; I highly recommend it. Excellent coffee as well! The only negatives are the staff aren't always as efficient or friendly as they could be and it is cash only, but still worth it.
I had brunch at Snow Pony with friends. The smashed avocado with corn relish and dukkah was delicious and a very generous serve. The coffee was delicious and the cafe wasn't too crowded.

Amazing food although arguably slightly overpriced. It's a fantastic place for a brunch or catch up with friends with excellent food and coffee
One slice of toast for two poached eggs - seems stingy. Doesn't have the generous sizes of other cafes.
