Whoa! Okay so this is an incredible hidden gem in Winston Salem! I got so excited about the menu that I ordered: crispy brussel sprouts, fried green tomatoes, beet salad, and rosemary bread (I never eat free bread much less order bread but fresh made?! With pimento cheese?! Okay?! . My girlfriend and mom both got the flank steak, veggies, and frites it was all so incredible! Due to COVID and mom's terrible health, we ordered take away a bottle of rosé and y'all: this place is joyously on par with Mozelle's. Even the service (takeaway at that!!!! was so personal and commmunicative I'm thrilled. Can't wait to return on my next trip to Winston. Looking forward to dining in in the future to try...

Wow! We ventured away from the downtown area to try Social and were pleasantly surprised! The service was warm and attentive. The food was delicious every plate we had was fantastic. We tried the raw oysters, house cold smoked salmon, panko benne crusted trout and everything salmon on pasta. Yum. Yum. Yum. Social is located in the Village at Robinhood. It's a restaurant that I would say falls in between neighborhood upscale and neighborhood casual. This restaurant has disappointed me. I've been wanting to try them for a while, specifically for the Mac and cheese, but they don't even have it. Tonight, my friend had a birthday party and we ordered the scallops appetizer. It was $14 for just TWO scallops, yes, I said TWO. As a true foodie, I don't usually mind prices, but this felt like a rip-off. We ordered several other appetizers, including the fried green tomatoes which were tasteless. It was the worst batch I've had in Winston so far. To make matters worse, they tried to charge me for the tomatoes even though I sent them back. I will not be returning to this place. First, excellent guest recognition. We were there to celebrate my new career move and my girlfriend must have told them because the host said congratulations and the server also did when she first got to our table. Even when we left the manager gave a warm good bye and recognized our event. The food was superb, the appetizers were hot and fresh and delicious. Our dinners (steak and burger) were equally delicious and well prepared. Finally our server (Britt) was on point and attentive, even as restaurant got busier. I had high hopes for Social Southern Kitchen for my birthday dinner, but unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The food was barely warm and the service was terrible. The atmosphere was rude and racist, with one of my guests being harassed for an ID even though no one at the table was underage. The appetizers were tasteless and there was a cake cutting fee for a cake my mother had purchased. There were bugs on the patio that got into our drinks, and there were no candles to help with the issue. This was a terrible restaurant experience and none of us should have paid. I will not be returning.
We were on our way back from the BRP after a day of hiking and sightseeing, and were ready for a hot meal. We decided to put of our way to stop in at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We started with the rosemary bread that tasted freshly baked, perfect crust and yummy pimento cheese spread. I highly recommend. Then I had the fish over grits and subbed Brussels and bacon for the asparagus. Those were the best Brussel Sprouts I've ever had! My husband's filet and Mac cheese were so good as well. Bravo for excellent wait service and phenomenal food!
They have amazing food and exceptional service. Their amazing fried chicken stays crispy and delicious whether you eat there or take home. Their sides are always amazing and the smoked bbq goes quick so you want to be early on Thursdays! Sweet and sour greens are amazing as is Mac and cheese. 8 out of 5 stars! The food and flavors at this restaurant are delicious and very unique. The establishment follows clean and proper Covid-19 protocols. I will definitely be returning to this great restaurant multiple times.
