We 've recently moved to the Runcorn area from South Liverpool. Visited Society after a meal at an Italian spot (another good review) and were delighted. The place had a great vibe going into it, getting even better when greeted at the small bar area by lovely staff members. The clients were varied (younger locals through to older) and the decor was great. We thought it could get a bit crammed when things get busier but found that there is a large external area and additional seating inside also! Drink selection was good, food looked amazing (we 'll be back to try that for sure). This place is really worth driving 5 miles to visit as we do (Covid rules allowing) several times a week. The staff are lovely including the owner and his wife. It is mainly locals who use it as it is not in a shopping area and you need to know where it is. It is under a railway arch that takes the railway over the River Mersey as well. It must be the only railway viaduct that has not just a bar but a church under it! Well worth a visit.
We visited this restaurant as a group of four and everyone loved their meals. The chicken and chorizo burritos, Mexican chipotle loaded fries, pulled pork burrito, Swiss burger, and beef chili loaded fries were a hit. The drinks selection was impressive as well. Overall, the best place in Runcorn by a long shot.
This restaurant is fantastic. It has a unique and charming atmosphere. It may be hidden under the arches, but it is definitely worth finding. The beer selection is excellent, and the food is delicious and affordable. The staff are kind and welcoming. I highly recommend paying this place a visit.

I recently returned to this restaurant after a few months away due to lockdown restrictions. Despite the closure, I was still able to enjoy their delicious takeaway food and beer, and I'm thrilled that they are still offering these options even now that the bar has reopened.
Ordered from Society for take away this evening. Food was brill, my son wanted hot wings, and they were proper hot. Also had 2 burgers v. good and a vege burrito to die for. Really well organised and felt really safe. Will be back. Thank you!
This is a gem of a place and totally unique in Runcorn, great beers, great food and great staff…..the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced and the beers are just great , I’ve never had a bad time here.
Foot was really good, beers where good, staff are terrible! Spent 4 hours in the place and they staff chucked us out for singing Christmas songs. Asian women literally pushed me out the door.

This place is fantastic every time we visit here the food the beer and most of all the atmosphere is first class. You will go in glum, sad etc and leave happy...Guaranteed
Excellent simple food done really well! Had the beef chilli burrito and chicken wings. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
