On two occasions, I ordered a medium rare Delmonico Ribeye steak and was served it blue rare instead. The first time, it upset my stomach all night and into the next day. The second time, I had to cook it myself in my home oven to bring it up to medium rare, which compromised the flavor. I called the restaurant while cooking the steak, but the hostess I spoke with did not offer any form of compensation or even an apology.
I also tried their Lobster Shishito appetizer. The first time it was fantastic, but the second time, a few months later, it was disappointing—the batter was so thick that there was more batter than lobster meat, with some bites containing only batter.

My partner took me her to celebrate my birthday and it was beyond my expectations. We live in the City and felt like venturing out a bit and we were not disappointed. The manager Annette's attention to detail made us both feel special and you could tell she loves her job. We should all love what we do. Management even printed a menu just for me! Our server Jackie was fantastic with great recommendations. She even laughed at my jokes. Their hospitality was matched with a warm ambiance and perfectly cooked steak. Lobster appetizer on point. Thank you for such a great birthday meal and experience. Recommend reservations because on a Monday they were poppin'!
However, I found the food to be underwhelming, rating it around 3 out of 5. We tried the grilled octopus, which lacked flavor, and the wedge salad which was similarly bland (they use blue cheese dressing instead of actual blue cheese). Even the burger fell flat in taste. The spicy chicken sandwich was a decent choice, though.
While I admit we haven't explored the signature items on the menu, based on our experiences with the dishes we ordered, I’m not feeling adventurous enough to try the more substantial offerings. The restaurant excels in service and atmosphere, but in terms of flavor, I've had much better elsewhere. I likely won't return.
I had the pleasure of dining here for dinner, and it was an exceptional experience. The meal was outstanding, deserving a perfect rating of 5 for the food. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive, also earning a 5; the staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere, too, was top-notch, creating a warm and inviting setting for our meal, which is why it also receives a 5. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful dining experience, with prices ranging from $50 to $100 per person.

I like a martini served in a proper glass. They serve martini’s in champagne glasses. They said they did not have martini glasses. As we were leaving, there were people at the bar with proper glasses. The food was good, the ‘famous’ steak sauce was awful. Wont go back because of the drinks. I can get a steak anywhere.
Overall, this restaurant is excellent. The service was good, although the waiter neglected to pay attention to my steak order, resulting in an overcooked steak that was otherwise perfect. However, the atmosphere and the rest of the food were fantastic.
Sophia’s is 12/10! The food is INCREDIBLE. the drinks!!!! the octopus!!! the ribeye!!! the POTATO GRATIN!!! probably the best food my husband and i have had since moving to chicago a year ago. we will definitely be back!
Food, service and atmosphere were 5/5. Thank you so much for special little things for our anniversary celebration such as special menu, champagne and chocolate cake. We will definitely be back.

Very good steak and very convenient for the suburbs. Price point is a bit high for the experience and similar to the big city. Solid all around.
