BEWARE!! I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit Sound Nightclub on a Saturday night, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare. I cannot adequately express just how discriminatory and disrespectful this establishment is towards its customers. If there was an award for the worst nightclub experience ever, Sound Nightclub would be the undisputed winner. To begin with, the bouncers at this club seemed to believe they held the power to rule the world. They couldn't care less if you had a valid ticket or not; they relished in their ability to discriminate against innocent partygoers. It appears that their primary interest lies in extorting money from unsuspecting individuals...
The people working here are very nice and friendly. The barman was super cool and informed us that the cups he served our drinks in were recyclable and if we returned them, we would get $2 back. This is the first place I ever run into that does this. That's all good; however the performance was horrible and unsafe. One, the music was super lowed and if you did not wear earplugs, there is a good chance of hearing damage. The sound quality was ridiculous. With most songs all you heard is a hum with the bass, there was no other sound distinction. Here's where the club should be ashamed; there was feedback on the mic when Giolli Assia were performing. The bartenders were okay, but here's another scam: they charge a $2 cup deposit, and supposedly you can get your deposit back or swap cups if you return them to the bar. However, they had staff taking away our cups before we even finished our drinks. So not only do we pay $2 for a cup that we can't return, but they’re also taking our unfinished drinks. It’s utterly disappointing.
We used to go to Sound frequently before COVID, but now I go out less often and am more selective about where I spend my time. This last experience really left a bad impression. I've been to a lot of clubs around the world and Sound has probably one of the best sound systems I've ever heard. Their lighting design is also top notch and super trippy when you see the lamps start moving for the first time, which I was very impressed with! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, the night I went felt almost over capacity and there was barely any room to dance. So, if you like standing in one place and wobbling all night, then that might be your jam. If they reduced the amount of people by 100-200, I think it would be perfect! And for a club of this calibre (and patron capacity) to only have three urinals for hundreds of patrons is bewildering, to say...

It 's ironic that the club is called Sound, yet they have one of the worst sound systems in LA! If I 'm in a club, I want to feel the vibrations from the speakers through my body...I could hear people having full blown conversations during a DJ 's set here. Others were shouting TURN THE MUSIC UP! so it wasn 't just me. Not to mention they have a bouncer right by the DJ booth, and if you get even semi close to the booth, he 'll tell you to move back. Fair enough if your reaching over and annoying the DJ, but to dance with your back to it and be pushed as if your causing an issue really brought my mood down. The nightclub has a great vibe and plays fantastic music, but the bouncers can be very unpleasant. It feels like you're being monitored all the time, almost as if you're in a totalitarian environment. The bouncers seem to have their own issues and can take them out on patrons. I witnessed them deny entry to a gay couple in front of me for no apparent reason, which was clearly due to their sexual orientation.
Overall, it's a fantastic club. They consistently feature incredible talent, which attracts large crowds. As a prominent Hollywood venue, it's on the pricier side, and you're likely to encounter both some pretentious individuals and genuine music enthusiasts. The sound and visual production are top-notch.
I've always wanted to visit this restaurant, and I finally had the opportunity during my trip to California. I had imagined an ambiance filled with acid techno music, but instead, they were playing house music. Despite that, the atmosphere was still great.

We have now been 2 times and have to say the audio quality is something else. Lighting is awesome. Pictures can't do it justice. The venue is cool and vibe is good. and Several bars and easy to get a drink. Easy to see the dj/artists. Will be back.
