The standout items for me were the ribs and the fatty brisket. I also ordered baked beans, mac and cheese, and a piece of cornbread. Like many places, the sides weren’t as impressive, and the portions were on the smaller side. The mac and beans were decent, but the cornbread was a delightful surprise—it was sweeter than I expected but paired nicely with the meat.
They offered three types of sauces: the first was a sweet, thinner BBQ sauce, while the spicier option added a nice kick and was quite tasty. There was also a Carolina-style vinegar sauce, which, while also on the sweeter side, had a hint of spice that complemented the pulled pork well.

Maybe it was cause we got delivery but was kinda disappointed by this place. First, overpriced; $24 for a half rack and we thought this would be shareable with two people but it is def for only one person. Felt like the sauce needed a tiny bit more punch flavor wise. Side of beans was super small... slightly bigger than the size of the takeout bbq sauce cup. Cornbread was probably the best out of our order but nothing in particular (could make at home). Hate being a debby downer but maybe it is better in person and bbq just isn't that good if it's takeout; but the spot is 5 min away from us too so i don't think it cooling down was a factor. After moving from Texas, my husband and I have been on the hunt for some good barbecue. Unfortunately, after eight months of searching, we hadn’t found anything that met our expectations. Today, on a whim, we decided to try this restaurant, and we’re so glad we did! To play it safe, we opted for kids' meals featuring brisket and mac and cheese. To our pleasant surprise, both were excellent! The brisket was incredibly smoky, the macaroni was tasty, and it came with a generous slice of garlic bread—all for about $10. BBQ for breakfast? Why not??? It's basically the same concept with smoked meats substituting for bacon or sausage. Known to few, South Winchester BBQ services up breakfast sandwiches and tacos at very affordable rates. Their breakfast sandwich comes with eggs, cheese and your choice of brisket or pulled pork. If you're jonesing a taco, think fried egg, mole/bbq sauce with either brisket, pulled pork or tri tip. The tri-tip is simply outstanding! The texture is spot-on, and it complements the barbecue sauce beautifully. The mac and cheese is tasty, and I savored a delightful piece of cornbread alongside my meal. There’s seating available both indoors and outdoors, which is convenient depending on the weather. The staff is welcoming, and the food arrives quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great picnic style bbq spot with indoor option. Awesome Mac and cheese. The Guacho was perfection and the neat is well smoked. Ribs aren't the meatiest and I recommend getting a couple bbq sauce on the side to dip them in but still tender delicious bbq.And Beans weren't all the way cooked through though they tasted alright. Super friendly and attentive servers.
Dinner on this stormy night was a delight. We had brisket and pulled pork, both of which were incredibly juicy and wonderfully tasty.
The patio is a charming spot to savor some ribs and a beer. Don’t miss out on trying the rib sandwich; it's absolutely delicious!
