Edit: so I?ve had their cakes several times and fell in love with them. Drove over two hours to get a few vegan slices for my birthday. The mouse cakes were delicious but their vegan carrot cake and vegan coconut cake were so so dry. I was thrown backbecause I?m used to a nice moist cake. Paying almost $8 for a slice just to come home and not be able to eat it is heartbreaking. Idk if they had it standing for several days and it dried out or if they had overcooked the cake layers. The food and baked goods at this restaurant have always been outstanding, but the portions are too small for the price. After receiving a garden salad with very minimal toppings, I felt compelled to write this review. Despite the quality of the food, the portion size is not worth the cost. I spent almost $64 for breakfast, including the tip, and felt unsatisfied with the amount of food I received. While I appreciate the food at Southern Sweets, I will be looking for a place that offers better value for the price. I understand the challenges of finding good help in the current business climate and hope that improvements can be made.
southern sweets was my favorite vegan dessert that I've ever had. the strawberry cake and the German chocolate should die and if they need a cake quickly, they can get a vegan cake day and /or stop it in for a disc. the only warning I have as someone who has tried almost all vegan cake here is that the caramel cake is too dry and too sweet, so I do not recommend it.
Southern Sweets is my go-to spot for delicious vegan desserts. The strawberry cake and German chocolate cake are absolutely amazing. If you're in a rush, you can pick up a vegan cake on the same day or stop by for a slice. The only caution I have is that the caramel cake is overly dry and sweet, so I would not recommend it. My experience at Southern Sweets Bakery was wonderful. They offer a wide selection of delicious treats. We visited to pick up a cake and were thrilled to see they had Vegan options. The cake itself was delicious and I highly recommend this bakery to anyone in need of Vegan desserts.
This bakery near Dekalb Farmers Market is fantastic! The BLT sandwich was amazing, with high-quality bacon. The Lemon Blueberry cake was refreshing and vibrant, and the cream cheese icing was delicious. I also tried my friend's Red Velvet cake, and it was absolutely delicious.
As someone with a major sweet tooth, I can confidently say that this place has the best vegan desserts. I absolutely adore their caramel cake, strawberry treats, and peanut butter chocolate mousse. You won't be disappointed!
