Edit: I've tried their cakes several times and absolutely fell in love with them. I even drove over two hours to grab some vegan slices for my birthday. The mousse cakes were delicious, but unfortunately, the vegan carrot cake and vegan coconut cake were quite dry. I was taken aback because I expect a nice, moist cake. It's heartbreaking to spend nearly $8 on a slice only to come home and find it inedible. I'm not sure if the cakes had been sitting out for several days, which caused them to dry out, or if they were overcooked. Please make sure your cakes are fresh. The food and baked goods at this restaurant have always been exceptional, but I find the portion sizes to be inadequate for the price. After ordering a garden salad that had very few toppings, I felt it necessary to share my experience. Even though the quality of the food is high, the portion size doesn’t justify the cost. I spent nearly $64 on breakfast, including the tip, and felt unsatisfied with the amount of food provided. While I enjoy the offerings at Southern Sweets, I will be seeking a place that offers better value for money. I recognize the difficulties in hiring good staff in today’s business environment and hope to see some improvements.
I highly recommend this bakery for any of your baking needs! Whether it’s for a birthday or just cause, they will give you a great experience. We ordered 2 cakes, red velvet and coconut, for my birthday party and they were both a hit. They were moist, delicious, and perfectly in the middle of fluffy and dense. Everyone at the bakery was very kind and helpful as well. Can’t wait to order from them again!
Southern Sweets is my favorite place for scrumptious vegan desserts. Their strawberry cake and German chocolate cake are simply fantastic. If you're short on time, you can grab a vegan cake to take home on the same day or just stop by for a slice. However, I should mention that the caramel cake tends to be too dry and sweet for my taste, so I wouldn't recommend it.

This bakery near the Dekalb Farmers Market is wonderful! The BLT sandwich was incredible, featuring top-notch bacon. The Lemon Blueberry cake was refreshing and vibrant, with a delicious cream cheese frosting. I also sampled my friend's Red Velvet cake, and it was absolutely delightful.
So I have been here for their desserts before and they are good. I saw they did breakfast and a friend who referred me said breakfast is good too. I had the smoked salmon scramble with parmesian cheese grits. Everything was freshly cooked and great.
Southern Sweets Bakery offers a fantastic variety of delicious cakes and treats. The inviting atmosphere welcomes both you and your children to enjoy dining indoors or outside in their lovely garden area. It’s a great place for a fun outing!
Southern Sweets did an incredible job with our wedding cake! We've gotten cakes from here for the past few years for birthdays etc. and this was our first time ordering a custom cake. The process was super easy and it turned out great!
