Happy to have found a place close by to satisfy my soondubu cravings! This is a mom and pop restaurant located next to a Korean supermarket in a somewhat busy plaza. The owner was so friendly and hospitable. After we ordered, she brought out the banchan and sauces. She asked if it was my first time and took the time to explain each of the banchan to me. The selection of banchan was huge 8 to be exact! A few of them I've never had before, like the marinated peanuts and seaweed with cucumbers. All of them had different textures and flavors so they complimented the overall meal. Came here today after here positive reviews and that it's Yelp OC's number recommended restaurant. Really enjoyed it! I got the tripe soondubu medium spicy(honestly think I should've just gone for the spicy but it was still a good amount of heat! . Honestly I thought the soondubu was good(solid broth and meat to tofu ratio but personally it wasn't outstanding. What was outstanding though was the banchan ahha they had one with potatoes julienned with a creamy sweet sauce and this one with nuts and honey which was really delicious! I got refills for both of those. Service was really kind and they played slower music which I feel like is more unique since most Korean restaurants play kpop. Love...
Amazing traditional Korean food in a very discrete location, tucked away in a strip mall in La Palma that's worth a long drive if you're 5-10+ miles away. We had the seafood pancake, bibimbap, and the grilled chicken, tofu soup, and along with the amazing banchan, this was plenty for 2 adults and two small children. The staff were super nice and attentive, even when the place got busy. Everything was extremely tasty and the seafood pancake was loaded with meat, while the chicken and tofu soup made the entire meal interesting with the banchan to kebitevery bite interesting. My daughter and I were looking forward to getting some Bingsoo after lunch so we stopped by here for lunch. This is a pretty good soon tofu place. Like usual, I ordered the tofu combo with kalbi short ribs. In addition, I also ordered fried dumplings and kimchi pancake. The food was tasty. The kimchi pancake had a good kick to it too. The service was pretty good with friendly staff. There was soft serve ice cream at the entrance but since we had our hearts set to try Bingsoo House next door we didn't get any.
Our recently discovered authentic korean tofu place..this is our 2nd time here and omg the tofu soup are sooooo good! Served it boiling which i like. The purple rice and Galbi are soo good! Side dishes are the bomb! Great service, always ask how we doing, if we need more side dishes etc. Ambiance is perfect, not to big but you'll feel the homecook vibes, not crowded and noisy that you can enjoy the food. Will be our go to tofu soup place Oh yes the free delicious ice cream
O M G. After you have the tofu soup here, you'll never go back to BCD I swearrrrrr. The tofu soup's flavor is just WAYYYY better here, and doesn't taste like it's just from a packet. Food is delicious. Very flavorful. Unlimited sides; I can eat the sides alone! Free self served ice cream. Excellent service. Easy parking. Highly recommend
