I was very excited to try this restaurant but I am very disappointed in the food quality I received today. The chicken was extremely blend no flavor at all despite it being coated with soya spice , plantain was overcooked and burnt for the most part and the worst part of the dish was the jollof rice. The rice smelled and tasted like it was infused with lamb meat. And as someone who do not eat lamb at all it was a very unpleasant surprise. I have had Nigerian jollof before and it never tasted the way this one did. I ended up throwing away the whole plate of food because I basically couldn’t eat any of it. So disappointed
The steak suya here was mid. The suya tasted over season and the quality of the meat tasted low. Felt like I was eating more fatty meat. The plantains were cooked well and the jollof rice tasted decent. The serving size was quite large which was nice to see. I wouldn’t go back as there are better suya spots in the dmv but it was worth trying atleast once. Service: Takeaway
Updating my review upon reflecting because I agree it isn’t fair their food is usually very good. Next time I’ll reach out directly. The jollof rice on the evening of December 1 was horrible. It was mushy and the taste was off (like raw tomato paste). The rice is usually amazing, so was very disappointed that I spent $60 on food that I mostly threw away. Food: 4
