This clear lapse in food hygiene is utterly unacceptable for any restaurant. What escalated the situation was the server's reaction when the affected table expressed their concerns, which we also shared. Instead of apologizing or addressing the issue promptly, the server responded with shockingly abusive remarks. I've been to the Spitfire Grill several times, and each visit has left me satisfied. The portions are generous, and the food is delicious. My wife and I shared a meatloaf dish, which was more than enough for both of us. The mashed potatoes, made from real potatoes, were delightful—so creamy they practically melted in my mouth and topped with a rich, beefy gravy. The meatloaf took me back to my mom's Sunday dinners. Our server was attentive, clearly explaining the menu options and checking in on us multiple times. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and look forward to returning for another enjoyable meal soon. This is a wonderful restaurant located near Victoria International Airport, making it a great spot for aviation enthusiasts and warbird fans. You can sit right by the runway with a view of the airport terminal across the way. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I had the blackened sockeye salmon burger, while my wife enjoyed the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
The coffee while I waited was fresh and delicious. The chowder was packed with seafood and bursting with flavor. The seafood crepe was also loaded with seafood and incredibly tasty—I almost wanted to lick the plate! The waitstaff were very friendly and provided excellent service. We enjoyed a lunch at the Spitfire Grill. My 1st time and I was pleasantly surprised. Easy going atmosphere, good Canadian food. I had the Reuben sandwich with lovely fresh, crisp salad. My husband had a cheeseburger. Great, crispy fries too! Ourwaitress was pleasant and efficient. We will definitely take a drive and have a meal there again.
We made a last-minute decision to stop by for a quick snack. It was our first time visiting, although I'd heard great things about it. I ordered the clam chowder, which I absolutely loved, while my husband chose the burger, and he had no complaints either! We're definitely planning to return the next time we're in Victoria.
