I stumbled upon this place with coworkers one evening while in Los Angeles on a work trip when I learned that it was a Japanese spaghetti I was like that sounds very cool. I’m glad I went in out of curiosity and gave it a try, the spaghetti that I had was very fresh, and surprisingly with the mix of textures within the spaghetti it paired very well. A small , but highly efficient and service oriented bakery and Japanese influenced pasta restaurant with a Michelin star in food taste, presentation and service. The French bread and pastas were home made. The bread is worth to serve to the French President. It is fresh , crunchy outside and soft and delicious inside. The pasta was well prepared. Simple ingredients with authentic taste and flavor. Lots of vegetarian dishes . Salad was fresh and the home made dressing was delicious.
One of my favorite restaurants in the world, discovered in the 1990s thanks to my good friend, Frank S. Kudos to this charming Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant for keeping their great “One Dollar Salad” with its addictive oniony miso dressing at $1 despite our rampant inflation (2023). I’m also simply crazy about their Hot Garlic pasta which is both spicy and garlicky. Unlimited iced tea refills with liquid sugar syrup seals the deal. PS their panna cotta is delish.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderfully cozy and evokes a sense of nostalgia. I've been coming here since 2011, and the food has consistently been exceptional. The flavors have remained just as delightful over the years. My personal favorite is the Japanese-style cod roe with uni—it's truly unique, and I don't think I've ever encountered spaghetti quite like it anywhere else.

My favorite pasta of all time! The $1 salad and the French bread is so good! There are many options for vegetarians as well, with my favorite being the garlic and basil pasta! It’s really fun sitting at the bar and watching the chefs cook!
