Additionally, the cornbread is often dry and overcooked, indicating that new pans might be necessary. It lacks the soft, golden texture one would expect, and a new recipe could also help. It doesn’t quite hit the mark as buttery or sweet; it just tastes like plain cornmeal without much flavor. On a positive note, they do serve an excellent cheesesteak and fantastic wings. I still support this cafe and consider it a valuable part of the community, so they will continue to have my business.
Catching up on reviews. I stopped by for dinner while in the area on Saturday, 06-04-22. I always try to visit a new spot before returning home. The reviews were good, so I wanted to taste for myself. I sat outside to enjoy my meal around 7:30 pm. A couple of items I wanted to try weren't available. This beef rib plate was delicious! They were well seasoned and fell off the bone?super tender and flavorful. The mac-n-cheese, greens and squash were perfect. Every time I come here, the food is always good and good for the soul. And I always add the mango ginger beverage. Yum! The only complaint of this place is the service! OMG! Great soul food that is worth the price. I had their dinner plate and it contained mac n' cheese, yellow rice, fried chicken drumsticks, seasoned fish, and cooked spinach. The food and bean pie are consistently delicious and flavorful! Consistency in food preparation is essential, and they've truly mastered their dishes. It's halal and healthy! We enjoyed the chicken dinner and lamb shank dinner, both accompanied by perfectly seasoned, tasty vegetables!
I'm so thrilled I discovered this hidden gem! The staff was fantastic, and the food was extraordinary. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to descale the fish and use some lime juice to help freshen its flavor, as it tasted a bit too fishy. I will definitely be returning!
I love this place! I?m a travel nurse and every time I come to Georgia I make sure to go get my plate of TURKEY CHOPS SMOTHERED! I missed them this week they didn?t have them but the baked chef was just as good and tender! Need more restaurants like this around the WORLD!!!
This is definitely the best Southern food I've ever had during my time in Georgia. Although they don't serve pork, it's absolutely worth it.
