A fantastic restaurant to hold a private party. I celebrated my 60th here and I can’t recommend St James more highly. The owner Alfonso is such a delight and an honourable gentleman to deal with, his whole team were so welcoming and their attention to detail is second to none. On arrival our guests were greeted with Prosecco and a variety of delicious hot and cold canapés. Our daughter has a severe allergy to nuts and seeds and Alfonso made it his mission to make sure everything was totally safe for her to eat. Xmas get together with friends. St James is our favourite restaurant. Been coming here since they opened in 1997 and can honestly say have NEVER had a bad meal. The service is beyond excellent and the food is sublime and only gets better. If you have not been you are missing a fantastic lunch/dinner. Alf and his team are the best and thoroughly deserve all the awards that are being bestowed on them currently. For excellent food, service and value for money you will not get any better!
We've eaten there several times and it's always excellent but this time we had the tasting menu and it was so good I thought I'd write a little review. Every course was thoughtful, immaculately presented and absolutely delicious. My favourite was the lamb, my wife's was the salmon. The service is efficient, friendly and attentive. The owner in particular makes you feel like you're the guest of honour at a special family event. Excellent as always. I'm very happy to recommend it.
We had a fantastic birthday celebration dinner for 17 guests at the restaurant, which we had all to ourselves. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and everyone had a fantastic time. I recently dined at a restaurant in St James and had a truly enjoyable experience. The food was outstanding and the service was top-notch. This hidden gem is definitely worth a visit and I regret not going more often.
We selected St James for our son's Bar Mitzvah lunch with 45 guests. Our experience was fantastic. The food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for any event.
