Stopped at Stacy's Skillet for 1st time. A few patrons scattered about restaurant. Restaurant closes at 2 pm. We were there abt 1:00. Large open dining room. Salad bar was great!! My husband and I both ordered shrimp and grits which came with the salad bar and drink for $14 ea. Disappointed is an understatement!! We both love good shrimp and grits... to us...this was no where near what we were expecting!! The dish consisted of 2 large scoops of grits which had the consistency of cold mashed potatoes. Nothing creamy about them!!! Grits covered in a spicy sauce with 6 rubbery shrimp. Grits to gravy/shrimp ratio was 80/20. IF we stop here again...would I EVER order shrimp and grits...NO!!!
I was extremely disappointed with our dinner at Stacy's tonight. When someone asked for a recommendation for a good steakhouse, I raved about Stacy's, but I was very wrong this time. First, they were out of the filet, which was fine, so we changed our order. However, my medium-well steak was cooked well-done, and the medium-rare steak we ordered was actually medium-well. We didn’t even receive part of our order, yet we still ended up paying over $70. The best parts of the meal were the salad bar and the sweet tea. Our waitress was also lovely—so sweet and polite. I’ll definitely think twice before recommending it next time someone asks.
I have been a fan of the food at Stacey's Skillet since they opened several years ago. My favorite dish is the crab cake with crawfish sauce, which I love either as an appetizer or as a main course paired with pasta. The salad bar is also outstanding. The staff is very friendly and attentive to their customers' needs.
Sometimes your dining experience is a combination of atmosphere, service, food, and friendly people. Stacy's Skillet had it all. The staff is so nice, the restaurant is very clean, the salad bar is phenomenal and the steaks, fish and pasta are all delicious!!
