We stayed at the grand for out babymoon, we had a senators club card so was told if we eat in one of the restaurants in the hotel that we would get a discount. So we decided on the grand bar, wish we just went somewhere else. The service was shocking, all young people without much of a clue, we ordered he failed to disclose that the discount was only on food not beverages. Once I paid I then realised then asked another staff member who checked and said oh he should of told you. I got i over it and went back to my seat, 35 min it took for 2 mains to come out, one was missing half the order, so back to the counter i went I said we are still waiting on this. Went here last Thursday , ordered the garlic bread and some squid. The garlic bread was meant to come with dip, so I politely asked if we could get some. The lady with blond hair and glasses came back with some, my friend had also ordered garlic bread and hers didn't come with dip either so I asked if she could get some as well. The lady then rolled her eyes, no one apologized about the error. The dip was bland, the garlic bread tasted like herb bread , the squid was luke warm. I can handle the squid being just warm but the appalling service was unacceptable
This place USED to be good. They Used to do this awesome 7 different burger deal with a beer. We went there on Sunday especially for this and also because we had an entertainment voucher. This time they only had 2 different types of burgers for $22. After waiting for ages and then seeing our burgers take a tour of the place I ended up going up to the waitress and pointed out where we were, she handed me our meals, the burger was over cooked and the only thing good about it was the chips! not very big! first visit this place and not back! the employees were very unprofessional without customer service. steak was understated without pride in the presentation! my wife had the salat and was a fight to eat from what seemed to be a sweet dish that overturned when using her messer and the fork. was also the full price for the pints we had, who were advertised as $5 in this time. the workers seemed very uninterested in it and had no maniacs.
Generally a great place for a cold drink & a light lunch. The club sandwich & burgers are nice. Great view, open windows in the warmer weather. Sunday has live music too. It could do with a good clean thou, then again it's a beach bar ????
Went to The Grand Bar to have a dinner with some friends. I had a good burger and fries. Not real busy but meals still took quite a while to get there. Views are good, a real feature of the bar.
