Popped in here for the first time today. Spent £7.40 on two fresh bacon rolls (with red and brown sauce), a bottle of orange juice and two cups of tea. Friendly service A proper local “greasy spoon” style cafe. Plenty of good value larger “dinner” meal options like shepherds pie etc. Seemed very clean and has two tables outside the front if you want fresh air. Very glad to have it as a local cafe!
As the gentrification of Herne Hill continues, my personal yardstick will be how long this brilliant place survives ... a proper workers cafe with all day breakfasts, lunch specials and everything else you'd expect at sensible prices. Always friendly, quick service even when busy. London needs at least one of these on every high street as well as places selling £5 coffees.
What more can I say, other than this cafe is exactly what a cafe should be. Unfalteringly cheerful service and great food (which is more than generously portioned) at exactly the right price. A lasagne, chips and salad set me back £6.50 and I was full for hours after. Feels nice to have a meal in this part of London that leaves you satisfied but not light in the wallet.

Worked near this place for a few days ended up being a 'go to ' place for breakfast. Proper traditional 'cafe ' with good menu and quick service great food and nothing to dislike.
Fine english breakfast, good atmosphere, good prices. The quality of food is perfect just like the service. If you want to eat good food cheaply, come here! Highly recommended!

The only place to go in Herne Hill for friendly service, good wholesome food at very reasonable prices. Lasagne, Omelette, Grilled Kebab and fry ups excellent.
