I must admit that we went to the Stickleback because we could walk to it along the Galloping Goose Trail, and we might get a seat on the patio (which we did when we arrived). We ordered two different fish sandwiches: salmon and cod. The salmon was good but messy as it comes with a fried egg, which is runny. Tell your server if you want it fried hard. The cod comes with a slice of pineapple. I almost removed it, but thought that I should at try it and remove it if it did not work for me. It worked well. Both sandwiches were very satisfying if messy. Add in some local beer or wine, and you have a very nice lunch or dinner. This is not a highly rated place in Victoria, garnering as many negativ...
So we ended up at Stickleback three nights on the bounce, as well as numerous take out boxes, which must be a new record for me in terms of patronising one place in such high volume. Truth be told, there isn't much choice in and around the town of Sooke, unless you undertake a thirty-minute schlep into Victoria… but we’re more than a little lazy, so we didn't bother with that. My husband and I stopped in here for a drink on the patio while riding bikes along the Galloping Goose Trail. We asked the hostess if it was ok to just have a drink. She said sure and sat us at a table on the patio. A waitress brought over a drink menu and that was the last we saw of anyone. We waited about 15 minutes. No one bothered to bring us water or ask for our drink order. So we left. I guess they didn't want our business after all.
The menu lists items as gluten-free, but they are not safe for individuals with celiac disease due to cross-contamination issues (such as a shared deep fryer). Even though I enjoy their seafood chowder, I consistently get ill after eating it. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
This small restaurant has a quaint outdoor eating area right on the water, the service is great and the food never disappoints, the menu has many delicious options, no complaints from 4 hungry travelers!
I do not recommend trusting the gluten-free products at this restaurant. I was contaminated here and I am aware that others have been in the past. It is best to avoid this place.
Good food, Good service. You will find something to your taste on the menu. Very good chowder. Prices are not out of line. All and all a good solid experience.

Laid-back west-coast with decent comfort food. Relaxing in the sun. Seems to be a local eatery where everyone shows up. Nice fast-ish food
