We stopped here on a tour for lunch and we ordered a Wiener schnitzel, salmon with risotto, salad with grilled chicken, boiled beef, pasta and soup. The hot food was served cold - we think everything was already cooked instead of made to order and they just plated the food. As such the coldness of the pasta and schnitzel ruined the food. Salmon was served with skin on and risotto was just awful as was the apricot sauce that came with it. The boiled beef was also awful and small and overpriced. I made a day trip from how to milk and did not check happycow before, because I did not expect to find vegan food anyway. when I decided to eat in a little chic pen restaurant at lunchtime, simply because it was close to the pen and I was hungry, I was surprised to find a vegan strudl on the menu. also it tasted very good! service was very friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, although it is not my usual style. Normally I would not give restaurant four stars if there is only a vegan meal, but in this case I do because there is a great step for a restaurant like this to offer because it was delicious and because I liked my visit.
Sitting outside but in the shade under a perfectly blur sunny sky at comfortable temperature was great! Food was good, not the very best food I've ever tasted and I know there are better Austrian restaurants in the City of Vienna. Yet, this food was definitely good (wouldn't say terrific, nothing fancy, no surprises, nothing making it anything really special). Pasta was a little bit overcooked. Portio nsize was good. Staff was friendly and fast, but the place was very touristy and crowded. Worth going there for a casual lunch, wouldn't do dinner there.
We were part of a large tour group who descended on this nice restaurant next to the Melk Abbey. I figured another tourist stop with barely edible food and inattentive service. I was quit surprised that we had our food quickly and it was the best Beef Goulash and dumplings I have had in our Europe trip. My wife's chicken salad was very good also. A bit pricey (that with a beer and scoop of ice cream) was 28 euros. Good service and food, I would go back again when in the area.

We were hungry and wanted to get a quick bite but were pleasantly surprised by the full menu, quality of food at an extremely reasonable price for such a tourist attraction. We had cucumber salad with a light vinaigrette dressing, schnitzel and penne pasta in meat sauce. Quite impressed with the tasty food and the speedy, attentive service in a very busy venue. Would highly recommend eating before or after your visit to the Abbey.
Es un restaurante de comida típica austriaca. Las raciones son generosas y los precios asequibles. Se encuentra situado al lado de la Abadía de Melk. Nosotros fuimos con un tour a visitar la abadía y sólo disponíamos de una hora escasa para comer y, teniendo esto en cuenta, nos atendieron rapidísimo para que nos diese tiempo a comer sin agobios.La relación calidad/precio es muy buena.
The lunch we had was ok, but nothing special. We ordered the food and it arrived within 5 minutes. Kind staff. The restaurant is full of loud tourist groups.
Ein Spezi (Cola-Mix) 0,5 kostet 5,90 Euro. Doppelt soviel als üblich In Gaststätten. Und als Krönung war das auch noch mit Wasser verdünnt.
