I'm in town on business, and my colleague wanted Italian food. We went with Stoneground because of the high rating on Google. The wait for the dinning room was long (this was a Wednesday evening) so we opted for immediate seating in the bar as the menu is the same. The hostess escorted us to the table and let us know that our server would be right with us. A different person brought us water and told us that our server would be with us shortly. The hostess then sat a couple next to us. The server went directly to the couple and proceeded to explain the night's options and take their drink order. After getting their drinks, he took their order for starters, and then he took our drink orders....
From scratch pasta and pizza! Charming and popular Italian restaurant where you won't be disappointed. I personally love getting a couple pizzas, entrees, and appetizers and share them all. The lobster tagliatelle is savory, creamy with mushrooms, an absolute favorite. The lasagna was extremely flavorful and a large portion. The pizza crust is perfect consistency. The chocolate hazelnut torte is a large slice and the texture is creamy with a little crunch. As the restaurant fills up, it gets pretty loud. Overall a lovely dining experience!
Four of us dined on a Friday evening. The atmosphere is really nice; darker in the restaurant, exposed brick walls, just a cool vibe.Lasagna was good, as was the pesto pizza was really tasty. We also enjoyed the meat cheese board as a starter. The donuts dessert was good too.The only downside for us was the service. Our waitress was never around seemed to have an attitude when she did turn up. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable evening.
I’ve been to many great restaurants, and this is the best food of any restaurant I have ever been to. I ordered the Gnocchi and the handmade donuts and they were both outstanding. Cool atmosphere, excellent and speedy service, and top of the line food. This is the first google review I have ever written just because of how pleased I was with the experience. Highly recommend. Loved the ambience here. It is sooo romantic and dim lighting, it was very festive when I went, they have big clear windows you can see the street (that 's if your lucky to get seated there : The food it self was good, although the 'special ' which was the salmon was just okay. The ravioli was amazing. Overall it was a pleasant place for dinner.
There was so much good flavor in the lasagna. I normally don't like sausage in it, but this one was so good I want it again. The takeout pizza from a previous visit was also great.
10/10 great prices for quality food. The fluffiest pizza crust you didn’t know you need. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, great wine picks. I’ll be back for sure.
