Stonehedge - Tisch reservieren

Like another reviewer here, I've passed by and wondered if this was just a banquet hall. I don't recall ever seeing an advertisement for them. I finally went with the family to check it out and it was really good. Kind of surprising for the area, as there's only one other restaurant (very close by and nothing else around for several miles. Based on the location and lack of advertising, I kind of expected it to be an old school place full of old school people that had been coming here since the previous century. There is some of that, but I have to say, the food was really good. Service is slow. To be clear; I mean the time between when you order and when you're served is slow. The wait staff...

We have had an early (4:30pm dinner this past weekend. We have been there several times before but over 15 years ago. No specific reason for the lapse. just never got back. Our past experience was: Food and service 5 stars, Atmosphere: upscale (dressy , Prices: reasonable for the quality and portions. The steak Au Poivre was the best I have ever had. New experience: The atmosphere, is more casual (almost rustic , The host wearing a flannel shirt, and the waitress wearing a down vest. After other guests arrived, I thought it was a bit noisy but then realized there wasn 't a person dining under 80 (guessing hearing problems, LOL , I 'm 65 and felt like a kid, LOL. We had not been here since the pandemic started. The food service was always good. The service was still good. We went the first week in March, a party of six, to celebrate a birthday. I was looking forward to having one of the large NY strip steaks I have had here in the past. As was another one of us. I was surprised when it arrived and was only a 1/2-inch-thick cut of meat, and it was not very tender, it was a little chewy. A pasta dish had no flavor and was tasteless, the fried fish platter had two small over cooked very thin, pieces of flounder, a couple of tiny scallops, 2 shrimp, the shrimp was not bad, but the baked clam was the consistency of ice cream. I've driven past Stonehedge for over 2 decades and never stopped in for dinner before because I thought the establishment only catered for large private events such as weddings, family reunions, are large private holiday parties, etc. Somehow, I had recently learned, though, that Stonehedge is also open for dinner to the public, and so I dined here last month with hubby and two friends before heading up to the Headless Horseman Hayride. Whenever we come to visit my dad we always go to Stonehedge restaurant for dinner. They have great service and great food. Also have a great selection to choose from. If you're ever in the area make sure to check them out.
