This place is sosoossosoo delicious. We have been here probably a dozen times. Anna at the front counter is SO SWEET. the waiters always have a great personality. the food is really, truly good. we love getting the meatball with an extra side of straciatella, lots of focaccia bread, and a classic stracci pizza!! stupid good. we love it. they do make a lot of food fresh, so it’s highly unlikely you can get takeout when it’s getting close to the end of the night. and occasionally they will have to turn you away if it’s close to closing time, because they’ll be fully committed on pizzas for the evening. there are no reservations unless you have a party of 5+ people. they do make the waiting tim...
We visited because of the 4.8 rating. We’ve lived all over the country and are really receptive to different types of food, but this has to be bottom 3 worst pizzas we’ve tried. From our perspective, it was not good and a waste of $60 for the food (2 pizzas and meatballs). Outside was great, server and food runner were really nice and accommodating, drinks came out fast, but the food was not worth it. We came on a nice, cooler evening so sitting outside with a glass of wine was relaxing, but visiting again (which we would minus food), it would be just for a glass of wine since we live locally since atmosphere, including music was great!
Pizza was good, typical for quality wood fired pizza but nothing spectacular. Atmosphere was terrible, extremely loud and crowded, tables are tiny and ours wobbled comically. You have to order via QR code even though there is wait staff right there. So first thing you have to do is pull out your phone and credit card, then again with the phone every time you want to add something. Terrible system. Waited 1 hrs for table. Might have been worth it if atmosphere and service were better Pizza was good, I would get takeout from here but never dining there again.
Best pizza in the DC region! Coming from the Midwest, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of solid za options in the beltway but this place brings me hope with their creative flavors, crushable crust, and splendid straccitelli cheese, please. Vibes are high along with the price, so make it a special night out at Stracci.
