I have always wanted to try this place and last night I finally did! I was not disappointed! I got the 1 pc halibut meal with fries and a small Mac salad. The fish was extremely fresh and crispy! The Mac salad was so delicious and creamy. I thought that I would get a standard orange basic Mac salad but the one I got was so tasty and it was a white cheddar kind of creamyness! I am definetely going to back! The only thing really wrong was that when I ordered it 40mins in advance, I got there, said I'm here to pick up my order, they found the order bag and than at that moment they started cooking my order! Sue's Seafood is located a short distance from Niagara College's Welland campus. The place is no bigger than a double garage with a total of six smallish tables which are serviced by the patrons. Food is cooked within sight and served on (heavy-duty) paper plates, but with real silverware. We have been there a number of times and are impressed with the proprietor, who seems to run the whole thing single-handedly. I am not a big fish eater anymore, mainly because of the "FAST FOOD" type fish and chip eateries. I actually felt like Fish and Chips and decided to give this 'hole in the wall' place a try. I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED!. I decided to splurge and opted for the Halibut. Best tasting fish I have ever had. Breaded and cooked to PERFECTION, with absolutely no oil seeping from the Fish when delivered.I must say , SUE, you got me hooked on fish again. KUDOS
Sue's Seafood has great Fish & Chips, I love her waffle fries and the seafood chowder. So yummy. Only 3 or 4 small tables inside, a single picnic table outside. Mostly a very busy take out business. Limited menu, but no matter what you order, you can count on it being fresh, quality seafood, and made on the spot. Parking in front and around the back. Closed Sunday and Monday. absolutely amazing. we ordered nowa scotia haddock. 2 one-piece grinding times and the quality of the fish and chips was the next stage. with distance the best fish and chips we have ordered in niagara. the restaurant is absolutely immaculately clean and organized and the staff was so friendly and outgoing. that will go from now on to our family.
for the first time ordering the dame was so nice on the phone (I don't know if it was helpful and easy to understand, and when I came there to pick it up, it is not sitting under a heat lamp, it packed it in order before me, so it was hot and fresh. not greasy, and only overall, I think that was one of the best fish chips I had.
I have tried almost every seafood place in Niagara. the only place I found any good was in Hamilton , so I drove there for decent fish, until I found Sue's, a little slice of seafood heaven and its right here in Welland , go figure
