I ordered agedashi tofu and it was gross. Instead of being crispy and fried it was gooey like jelly. I complained about it and they said it is supposed to be like that. They were reluctant to make another one or correct it. Not great customer service. I’d stay away from that dish or anything fried there. The sushi was okay. Sugata changed owners years ago and I stopped going. Recently I've given it a couple tries and it's been great. The sugata bento is a great deal for $33. There's enough to feed two people. Since COVID, I hadn't visited nor gotten delivery from here, but last week I ordered a delivery and was blown away by the incredible quality of every dish. This is a true hidden gem. The food was absolutely outstanding—especially the omakase which was simultaneously subtle and extremely bold. I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to find this place. Could not recommend this higher.
