I'm surprised this place has such good reviews...is it because it's the only option around the burbs? I've been here 3 times and each been pretty disappointed. The sushi is generally flavorless and uninventive. They use massive amounts of imitation crab and not much else. The spicy salmon had almost no spice. (I DID like the shrimp tempura roll!! I also ordered udon noodles which I was pumped for but they were WAY overcooked and mushy and the dish had no flavor otherwise....luckily I had some chili crunch at home. Very attentive and great service. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired. I would recommend opening a shade to let light in , draw customers in and make the front more inviting. Turn off the tv’s or at least the sound. Put on a cooking show or Japanese garden scene . Crank up the Japanese tunes or mix it up and mix in some fusion music. Take the take out packing stuff off the sushi bar . The place was tidy and pretty clean and really has a very nice feel. The sushi is mostly saku block, but was good for what it is. Suishin Restaurant in North Oaks offers a fantastic menu with delicious options like edamame, negimaki, ikura sushi, eel pizza, and tonkatsu—each dish was truly exceptional. However, I made the mistake of ordering ramen, which wasn't on the menu, based on a previous Google review. There's a good reason it’s not on the menu—the ramen had an unpleasant smell like pig feet and tasted like watered-down broth. Stick to the items on the menu; they won’t disappoint! The ramen mishap was my fault, but overall, Suishin is a great spot for authentic Japanese cuisine.
When we arrived we were immediately seated and then we ordered and got our food really fast, the atmosphere was also really nice and was SUPER clean! Anyways I ordered ramen and I was struggling with chopsticks so the staff offered me a fork, which was nice of them. The ramen was also really amazing. Also they have really cool sinks.
