Visited last night for takeaway and was quietly surprised. Sum Thai offers authentic Thai food, generous serves and unpretentious setting. Offers dine in or takeaway. It's a little loud in the colour scheme for romantic dining however I have often seen patrons dining in. 53 different dishes on the menu, so being one of the last great procrastinators I was spoiled for choice. Everything is cooked fresh, so may take a while to come out. If ordering takeaway order ahead. We dined in here on 10 Jan 2017. My husband and I were delighted by the fresh look of the place,doned in orange and lime green. The place looked fresh, clean and brought a feeling of brightness. It is right next to Aldi in Parklands. Easy to find parking. Menu choices were extensive. Food was great! It's also BYO. I had the beef massamun which was really really. If it was a little notch salty, it would have been perfect! One of the best I had. My husband had a duck curry, which he was also impressed with. Sum, the lovely lady owner/chef came out to greet us, which was so kind of her. They were a bit busy with takeaways when we came in, so I already had the feeling that the food would be awes...
I arrived at Brisbane Airport and drove through poor weather to my hotel in Caloundra. I was tired and just wanted some food to take back to my room. What a lovely treat to find Sum Thai in it's quiet shopping centre location. I ordered some pumpkin & tofu red curry and rice, which was delicious. I had enough left over that I've been able to enjoy it for my dinner again tonight. It was also a very friendly place to visit and I was made to feel very welcome. Thank you!

Every meal my partner and I have ever had from here is amazing! We consider ourselves Thai food lovers and this place is our favourite place to go. The owner is lovely and the service is always great too. Everything from here is cooked from scratch so bare in mind the usual 30 minute wait on your food, but it's worth it for the fresh and flavour packed meals!
This one is close to home, so when feeling lazy decided not to cook and have Sum Thai for dinner. We were not disappointed. The satay was delicious. We also had the Penang curry and a delicious stir fry. The service was friendly and fun. A really good option if you are in the area. Nice and quick too.
The picture doesn't do the Thai Fish Cakes justice. They were devine! Hit the spot. I'd been craving them so badly. I was thrown when I discovered cherry tomatoes in the fried rice, but hey it worked. No faults here.
We really enjoy the authentic food in this restaurant. Like being in Thailand once more, and oh, so fresh! Thai curries can be a little watery..... that's how we learnt to make them in Chaing Mai Cookery School!

Good Thai the food is prepared with care the price was slightly above average. Meals can be tailored to your personal taste and allergies sadly no coconut water which is strange for a Thai restaurant.
Tried Penang curry. Very sloppy & watery which was very disappointing. Don't think we would ever try again.
