This is that place we eat at whenever we return home. This is my childhood deli. Getting permission in the summertime to walk from Clearwater Swim Club to get Sloppy Joe 's and candy was a rite of passage. We recently took the second generation plus in laws not once but 3 times in their 4 day visit. Fantastic!! Btw, IF you find the crew to be a little gruff as others have reviewed, it 's the charm and the Jersey way they deal with hangry people all day. Give a smile and they will appreciate your gratitude. They have been working hard since 1958, BRAVO. And yes, I bought the t-shirt!!
I visit this restaurant frequently and usually have a great experience. I'm giving it one star solely because the sandwich is delicious. However, on my most recent visit, Frank took my order incorrectly, even though I repeated it multiple times. This would have been understandable if he hadn't been so unfriendly when making the correction. Sadly, I won't be returning to this restaurant, which is quite disappointing.
i come here a lot and usually have a good experience one star only because the sandwich is good but today i went in and frank got my order wrong after repeating it to me correctly several times which would’ve been totally okay if he hadn’t been so rude about remaking it. never coming back which is a shame.
I’ve been coming here for 10 years and it’s the best sub shop around. However, I’m giving one star because of one staff member. Fred has a serious attitude problem. I’ve never been treated so rudely in all my time living in Summit. I’m genuinely shocked.

Great place to pick up fresh sandwiches of varies types whether hot or cold. Fresh deli meats and homemade recipes add consistency to the menu. Add to this a gallo tea and you have a great combination. Definitely looking to return when I 'm in the area.
Towne Delicatessen offers the best sandwiches around! The staff are incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. I highly recommend trying the hot pastrami or the Hilltopper from their menu.
Summit City Deli is quite disappointing. The establishment is unkempt, and the food is not appetizing. Moreover, the service is uncomfortable. I would give it a score of 3 out of 10.
I'm dropping a 4 but 3.5 would be better. Their half and half Arnold Palmer is terrific. The cold cuts are properly sliced. The customer service can be iffy, though.
