During our stay in Hawkshead, our group of three couples visited this restaurant on Friday evening and ordered six portions of Fish and Chips. The dishes were generously sized, freshly cooked, and served by friendly staff. We were very satisfied with our meals and grateful for the excellent service. Thank you.
On a self catering holiday we thought that we would try the local fish and chip shop for our dinner one evening. Our order was freshly cooked for us and was excellent. The owners were very friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back there on our next visit.
We called ahead to order fish and scampi and chips for a family of 5. The food was ready exactly on time. The fish batter was light and crispy and the chips the right balance of soft and crispy. Even after driving them home 16 minutes away they were still warm and perfect.
Awful fish and chips really disappointed. Chips dry and been sat for a while, fresh fish but greasy and tasteless. We had a hankering for fish and chips after a long day and sadly these really were poor. Staff friendly.
