As we weren’t able to go to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday- lockdown. I chose to order a takeaway from here having not eaten here before but reviews looked good. Ordered over the phone, given a no. and time for collection to pick up we arrived on time but had to wait for order, not a problem. Generous portions although a lot of veg in each dish. Did not like the house special fried rice inedible. Other dishes were fine. Would I eat here again probably only if in another lockdown with limited options in Shepton Mallet.
Passing through with work during lockdown and having to eat in my van chose this Chinese purely because it was open and the prices were excellent, and I’m so glad I did... for just £8 a meal for 1, consisting of chicken balls with a sweet and sour dip, followed by egg fried rice and chicken curry, and a fortune cookie to top it all off. It was well cooked, nice and hot and excellent value for money, so sitting here in Aldi car park dining for one, I’m a happy chappie! Thank you.
My husband and I ordered sweet and sour pork with fried rice and chips. The sweet and sour pork was fatty and very chewy, making it inedible. The rice was average and the chips tasted like they were reheated from the day before. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. My husband is considering reporting this to trading standards as this is unacceptable.
Sunrise offers incredibly delicious Chinese food that comes very close to our favorite Chinese restaurant from before we moved to this area. The dishes are well-seasoned and taste amazing, although they are a bit on the expensive side. Despite this, we will continue to make the trip here for our takeout meals. Thank you, Sunrise.
Short and sweet. Food inedible, reheated. Clogged up rice and an order of duck in plum sauce produced bits of duck fried in batter with soggy onions and no plum sauce. By the time I got it home they were closed, but I hope they read this to see that I think what they served me up with was disgusting. Will never eat there again.
I ordered the prawn dish with spring onions and ginger. When I brought it home, there was not even a single piece of ginger in it. Instead, they tried to cover it up by adding excessive amounts of white onions. It was awful. I felt cheated and will not be returning to that restaurant.
I am a regular customer and love the food at this friendly local takeaway. The service is quick and friendly even though they are always incredibly busy. Highlights for me are the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and the hot salt chilli chicken.Incredible!
I would have to say this is the best Chinese in the Mallet. Great food at great prices! I would try to order, if you just turn up you can be queuing out the door some nights.
Really disappointed. Chicken in batter was almost inedible, really tough, dry and chewy and sauce was just insipid.
