I placed a large delivery order tonight, and I was really disappointed with the food. It was so bland that I ended up pouring all the salsas on it in hopes of adding some flavor, but it still fell flat. The blackened mahi was nice, but everything else just didn’t measure up. I suspect that customers in the Long Beach area may prefer milder tastes, but in my experience, Mexican food should be packed with bold flavors. I paid $15 for nachos that barely had a dollop of brown “guacamole.” The cheese quesadilla costs $11, and it was also lacking in taste. Overall, it just wasn’t good.
I've been a surf taco fan for a loooonnnggg time! I live an hour away (west jersey) but long branch was always my favorite location. I haven't been in several years and this location was a little run down. They also did away with my chimichanga which was a horrible decision lol. The Mahi tacos were good but very light on the Mahi and tons of filler. Not at all how I remember. Mild salsa was empty. Verde salsa was spoiled and sour. Just not the magical experience I remember. Parking: Limited parallel parking available. I imagine it will be difficult to park here in the summer.
We found Surf Taco after touring Monmouth and our son wanting to check out the surfing waves at Long Branch Beach. It was slow for a Friday afternoon, but the food was excellent. It was fresh and came out fast. The establishment was clean and the staff helpful. We had the Surf Nachos, Mavericks, Buffalo Solidier, Chicken Taco and Shrimp Taco. Higly recommend!
The food is excellent, and it's a great spot for groups with ample seating available. However, it may not be ideal if you're really hungry, as the portion sizes are on the smaller side. The service is quick, creating a lively atmosphere, and they offer free refills.

Not giving 5 stars because I only tried it once. I got some sort of bowl with chicken surf style and it was pretty good. If I go again, I'm not local to the place, I will have better understanding. For first time, to get a quick taco fix, this was good.
Usually go to the one in Red Bank. Stopped in this location while visiting the beach and boardwalk. Clean restaurant, good service. Conveniently located near the start of the boardwalk.
I waited 20 minutes for two cold tacos, and at $6.50 each for a mini taco, they are overpriced.
Surf, Mahi, and Shrimp are the freshest, most savory tacos ? ? anywhere!
