After reading some of the previous reviews we were a bit skeptical. We were happily surprised that our experience at Surgi-Care in Waltham was exceptional.Ashley and Judy were so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They explained the ordering process thoroughly.Within a day they called and set up an appointment for us to come in.When we arrived we met with Bonnie. She fit my wife with the proper cane and actually spent a great deal of time instructing her the proper way to use it correctly.What a great caring staff and wonderful customer service.Surgi-Care is now our go-to medical supplies company.We thank you.
This is the scam they run. Be aware!1) Submit lazy\incorrect claim to your insurance.2) Insurance denies and says “do xyz…”3) Surgi-care won’t resubmit – asks you to sign ‘patient waiver’ … because your surgery is in the next few days and they won’t workout insurance paperwork before then4) Send you a bill for several hundred dollars.5) When you call them Surgi-care with your insurance company they say “Patient signed a waiver, we won’t bill insurance”Leaving you to pay them out of pocket and subsequently chase down your own insurance for reimbursement.
What a deplorable company. They charged my insurance company $365 for a walking boot that retails between $60-$90 even on other medical equipment sites. The first boot I received in the hospital stopped working properly in less than 24 hours which meant another 2 hour round trip to get a new one. Blue Cross helped out by only charging me the allowable contracted amount which is still $175 which is still double what it should be. Shame on this company and the insurance company. Places like this are the reason that healthcare is so unaffordable.
This company feels like a total scam. As others have pointed out, they collaborate with hospitals and medical facilities. You receive a service at the hospital and are billed for it, which is acceptable. However, days later, you receive another bill from Surgi-Care for basic orthopedic supplies that are priced more than five times what you would find elsewhere—I'm not exaggerating. I don't want to even give them one star. I had my custom orthotics with this place in Waltham and they didn't work from day one. They charge me $400 for something that hurts my feet and ankle and made everything worse. I went many times back and forth for adjustment and still no result. I don't think they gave me the correct inserts for my feet. Stay away from this place :
This review is about the surgi-care equipment, which I found to be excessively overpriced. I purchased an elbow and forearm support splint, and surgi-care charged my insurance nearly $500 for it. I found a similar brace on Amazon priced at just $50. Naturally, my insurance didn’t cover it, and I ended up paying $300 out of pocket.
ABSOLUTELY A SCAM. Fiance is a Veteran and had surgery. They messed up and didn't send the bill to the VA and now we have an 800 claim in collections. They refuse to let the VA pay this bill. SCAM!!!

Apparently they sold a crutch through Emerson Urgent Care. But instead of sending a bill to us directly, they silently sent it to the debt collector... how dare you.
