Great family run sushi spot!!!!! We came here for lunch on a weekday. Authentic mom and pops shop where mom runs the front and dad makes the sushi. No frills and very reasonably priced. I appreciate the beautiful dishware that they use, it’s very Japanese, not over the top like some restaurants and not plastic quality like others. Feels like going to a friend’s mom’s house for lunch. The dining space is very spacious and comfortable and it was nice and bright. A relaxed dining experience.We had some rolls, sashimi platter and chicken udon. Good portions and very tasty. They are limited in their cooked foods but has the basics. They are mainly a sushi spot and looks like they do a lot of take...
I paid $16 for THIS (see pic). I have tiny hands but even if my hands were huge, this is still a teeny, tiny portion. I ordered thr veggie combo and yam roll.I feel bad leaving 1 star because they seemed nice, but we only eat out rarely for financial reasons and this was supposed to be a treat.The menus on Google reviews from few weeks ago are wrong, prices have increased significantly and dishes are the cheapest quality and smallest I've ever seen.Rotten avocado in my veggie roll.Yam roll was white sweet potato and ICEBURG LETTUCE.Threw it away after eating a few bites becaise veggies were mush and rotten. So disappointing.
I have come here to this place multiple times and I have to say this is by far one of the best sushi spots in north Burnaby. I always will get the unagi battera roll here, it is simply the best eel roll in the city and beats many of the places offering that roll.The quality is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I always do order take out a lot from this place and have had their Deluxe sashimi platter in the past and it was awesome.Will come back again, definitely fixes my cravings for good sushi.Vegetarian options: Many optionsParking: Lots of parking
A popular neighbourhood sushi bar with very limited dine-in tables. It 's probably been a good 8 years since we were last here but it seems like they are pretty consistent.Ordered the unagi battera (which we 've had before) as well as their Kilala roll... This is one HUGE house roll. It 's almost impossible to pick up without it falling apart. Also tried their edamame, gomae, sashimi, ethnic tuna and ethnic salmon roll. Not sure what constitutes ethnic for sashimi but it did come with spicy sauce.Overall, food is pretty good. Service can be a bit slow.
This is a great place to enjoy authentic traditional Japanese style sushi. The tuna sushi is one of the best I have ever tried, very tender and smooth. Scallop nigari sushi is great as well.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian sushi.Parking: Street parking unavailable, but may park at the McDonald nearby
The nigiri and sashimi was very high quality and all the food items are reasonably priced. Special mention for the tamago and unagi nigiri. It's really something else! Their wasabi is also super legit and fresh (on the strong side, be warned!)Very authentic atmosphere and service.
The restaurant is really small, unassuming, minimal decor, but the service was great. The ingredients are fresh. Portion sizes are not big, not small, just about there. There are paid street parking, but you may be better off looking for free parking on the side streets nearby.
The storefront is unassuming and can easily be missed. They offer sushi with less common ingredients (compared to other Vancouver sushi spots), such as natto and anago. They also asked if I wanted wasabi in the sushi, or on the side.
Great sushi in heights/capital hill area! They make more traditional style Japanese. Some of their menu items can’t be found at typical Canadian sushi place.Loved natto maki and properly made battera!
