We were just after a quick, cheap, no frills dinner and that’s exactly what we got here. Service was good. Atmosphere was average. Food was a little above average. We had some tempura haloumi and octopus karaage to start. Both were nice, but could have...been better. I had beautiful salmon and vegetables for main, and I couldn’t decide on which sauce so they brought me both, which I thought was really nice. My boyfriend’s sushi wasn’t the best we’ve seen or had... It was pretty basic. If you just want a simple quick cheap meal and you’re in the mood for Japanese, put this on the list. (Although you’d probably find better elsewhere to be honest.
This slightly hidden gem of a place is at the end of the arcade off the main street on Chevron and it is just a lovely place. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, the dining area out the back is intimate and nice, and oh my god, the FOOD...IS...DELICIOUS!In my opinion, THE best Japanese food on the Gold Coast, and in fact in Melbourne too, my hometown - I've been to a lot of restaurants there and this is just the best.

I had the sashimi - so fresh - and the tempura vegetables which were light and crisp and delicious. The service was efficient and very friendly. It is tucked away in the mall beside the pedestrian crossing.

this caffe is fucked behind the Chevron shops arcade. but has a decent room for diners. test the lunch menu and a order of sashimi. the food presentation, fresh and taste is certainly well above average for its price. we will definitely try other dishes again. highly recommended!
