The restaurant has no exterior signage or street indicators to help you find it. Inside, it feels like a throwback to the early 2000s, with updates hastily taped over the original decor. With only two people running the establishment, service can be a bit slow as they manage orders and maintain the space. However, the food is a classic sushi experience, featuring fresh fish topped with just a hint of wasabi on perfectly cooked sushi rice. I enjoyed my dish, which came with a choice of salad or miso soup. Dining in the quiet corporate lobby outside the restaurant felt a bit unsettling, and I wish I could magically relocate this gem to a street-facing spot.
This is a fantastic little place for sushi at lunch. While it has a simple atmosphere, the quality of the fish and sushi rice is excellent. This place is similar to Sushi Stop on the East Coast, but there's no need to tip since it's counter service. The prices for individual rolls are quite affordable, but you can find even better value with their combo options. There is seating available, but it's not the kind of place for a leisurely sit-down meal.
its my first time here and so slow the girl at the back shes making my order i love the foods unfortunately its not approriate the dress specially if you working in the kitchen.. so disgusting no mask, i see hair on my sushi. be professional if you making a food dress approriate. I cannot believe that it took me 10 years to locate an affordable sushi restaurant in downtown DC. I ordered a bento for $13 and a California roll for $4.5. they are tasty and cheap. And they are on second floor inside 1990 K St. I will come back.
Used to be good. I just got a chirashi bowl. It had a one-inch thin piece of salmon, one small thin piece of white fish, one shrimp, and two small pieces of egg. Lots of rice. Disappointing for the price. I won’t be getting lunch from them again.
One of the best kept secret lunch spots in the area. Used to come here each week for sushi when I worked downtown. Amazing prices and great deals, plus always fresh tasting fish. Cooked options as well.
