We recently reserved a table for dinner on a Friday evening for 4 x persons and the wait staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is well presented and decorated with Thai artefacts and memorabilia. We selected 3 x entrees to share - spring rolls, satay chicken and chicken wrap pandas leaves, all were delicious and accompanied by a side of green shoots and mixed sauce. For the main meal, we ordered 2 x curries and a stir fried noodle dish. The noodle dish was tasty and light but unfortunately, both the curries lacked the traditional Thai kick and bordered on the bland side. They was too much residual oil in the sauce and the sauce itself was very thin..ie: required to be thickened so...
We decided to try Suwan Thai Restaurant after reading some positive reviews. As we're seniors, we thought we'd try it on a Wednesday night as its discount for old farts. WOW, we were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted with a warm smile when...given the menu. There's lots to choose from and the pricing is very reasonable. The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is spotless and very quaint. Just wished wed tried it earlier. It's nice to know there is a little gem of a restaurant in our area. We will definitely be back. Number one son fancied dinner and loves his Asian food. We hadn't visited this place for many years. It has been rebranded since and were greeted by very friendly wait staff without a reservation. The owner also came over to greet us and was teaching...the waitress how to take the orders and was very patient with her. Our meals came out quickly and were absolutely delicious!! So much flavour in every dish. Love that it is a local place. Reasonably priced. Not huge serves so if you eat a lot, just order a little more. We will be back.
We visited this restaurant on a Wed night after deciding to go out for a meal at the last minute. Since we last visited this place it has changed ownership and although there were not many people in the restaurant.....it turned out to be a very nice meal. It was pretty quiet...maybe because it was midweek and a very cold night! The food was very tasty and fresh and the portions were generous. I would definitely go back to Suwan Thai. Small restaurant, run by husband and wife, wife runs the kitchen and husband the restaurant. Really tasty traditional Thai food, good for whole family as my mother-in-law (101 years of age) loved the food especially the Chicken Curry Puffs.Owner was previously sauce chef at one of Perth's top Thai restaurants so knows her stuff.
A husband and wife team who took over about two years ago. Small but charming in its own way.The food was beautifully cooked and presented well. A little out of the way but good for a local meal.Especially if you like Thai foodOzdreamer
We have struggled to find a decent Thai restaurant for so long so we were hesitant to try Suwan! But we are so glad we did the food is very flavoursome and decent sized portions. Staff are very friendly and takeaway is always tasty too
This is one of those gems in the suburbs. Quiet and clean with a reasonably priced delicious menu. Fantastic service and all round great experience. BYO includes a very reasonable $1 corkage. Highly recommended. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
