I have been here at least half a dozen times over the past few years. When I was living in Australia and working for the local Council, I used to visit with my colleagues for lunch and have their meatballs, which were always well cooked and quite flavoursome, especially the potato accompaniment. I have never had genuine swedish meatballs though (are Ikea's authentic?) and therefore my judgement of them might be off key, but it's what you think at the time that counts, isn't it? I brought my girlfriend here last year when I brought her to Adelaide to meet my family, and we had a berry smoothie, iced coffee and some tarts. Their juices are thick and taste fresh, and their tarts are delicious...

I've walked past this hipster looking place when I'm having a stroll along Semaphore road but never set foot into it. I did find it was always busy with customers and my girlfriend had raved on about it so I decided to give it a try. I went with their waffle special and apple spiced tea while my partner ordered a salmon dish. My dish was okay - the waffle was slightly burnt and I had chunks of ice in my vanilla ice-cream. When I think of waffles, I'm imagining something that is light and fluffy and just absorbs chocolate sauce which was why I was rather let down. I did try my partner's smoked salmon dish and it was pretty tasty and cheap.
Looking for a quick bite in Semaphore and to say there's many choices is an understatement. However, did see one which had a long queue thought had to check it out. Small but oh my. Amazing food and drink selection, lunch diner style. Food choices for all ages and tastes all reasonably priced. Swedish tarts continues to be a go to destination whenever we're in the local area. The food is good and the cakes are delicious. There's a great range of gluten free treats which is perfect for those looking for something sweet that differs from the standard gluten free desserts. I can't pass up the Swedish flatbread, it's so tasty and a great brunch or lunch option. Weekends brunch and lunch is popular so you may struggle to get a table.
Had lunch here the other day. They have a wide selection of food. Burgers, flatbreads, salads and various tarts. My partner and I both had the chicken tandoori flatbreads. They were tasty but the chicken was a bit dry. I had a skinny cappuccino and my partner had a berry smoothie which we could not fault. The cafe is in a great location on Semaphore Road not far from the beach. Would go back but would try another food option.
My hubby took me and my 14 month old son here for breakfast while on holiday! Service is friendly and good, warm welcome, and food was lovely!!Portion sizes were huge, and too much for me and my son, but amazing tastes and presentation! Breakfast Smoothie was so tasty and refreshing!Would definitely go here again if we come back!
They really make Sweden look bad. I have been to Swedish Tarts several times (due to invites) and I hate to say it, I really really do; it's terrible. Never had a good experience there!?!? After so many years, Swedish Tarts have still got it! Always a steady stream of customers, funky wall decorations add to the cool interior, and delicious pasties make this a solid bakery cafe. Just yum!
