The initial impression given by the waitress was unprofessional and unpleasant. When I asked for water, she responded in a sarcastic manner. After finishing our meal, she asked if we wanted dessert and when I declined, she sarcastically repeated my response. When I addressed her behavior, she suggested she would try to be nicer next time. This lack of customer service etiquette made myself and my boyfriend feel uncomfortable. However, the food was delicious and the woman carving the meat was friendly and welcoming.
Sweet Chestnut seems to have new management, and I have to say, it's made a big difference. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic, the service was faultless, and we thoroughly enjoyed the carvery and coffees. The dog-friendly area was perfect for our furry friend, and he was given special attention with complimentary water and food. Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch and great value for money.

I arrived with my family very close to the closing time and had still arrived at a very warm reception. from beginning to end of the service (conclusion with the employees) was not! nothing was too much annoyed and eating was amazing. we will definitely be back!
had a nice meal, melissa our server was very helpful, she could not do enough to help us. we had a vegan in our party and she ensured that it was an acceptable option for her before we started ordering. all staff were friendly and helpful. would recommend it.
