What really detracts from the overall experience, however, is the service. It feels like there's a lack of care now. On my last visit, I didn't even receive bread until much later and with an extra charge, and it arrived after our main courses. The staff appeared inattentive throughout the meal. I had to ask for hot sauce multiple times before it finally made it to the table. I understand that places can get busy, but this was not during peak hours at all. The restaurant, which used to be bustling, had very few patrons, and the bar was only moderately full.
It seems like there's a lack of management or oversight now, which is disappointing considering how good it used to be. I really hope...
We were thinking about where to eat yesterday and my wife said i didn 't really like Sweetwater last time. And i said, and she agreed, that the food was fine, but the service sucked. Every time we 've been here we somehow wind up in a shift change. Sometimes it happens before the entrée comes out, sometimes it 's in the middle of the entrée. Either the entrée takes extra time or we never get a water refill and my bourbon glass gets dusty or we sit for 20 minutes waiting for the check which kills the mood if we wanted desert. The food has been good but i can go to a lot places and get decent food that visiting doesn 't result in being in a bad mood.
Sweetwater Tavern screwed up my last two to-go orders. I ordered their Monterey Salad with Spiced Pecans, and it was literally missing the spiced pecans, avocado, tortilla strips, AND dried cranberries. How is that possible? This time, I ordered the crab cake platter, and they forgot the remoulade sauce. Also, the crab doesn't resemble cakes at all, and looks like lumps were just thrown in the to-go container. They would never get away with serving this inside the restaurant. Their to-go team has gone downhill. I'll stick to Mike's American for my to-go orders.
I can't rave enough about my fantastic experience here. The rolls were amazing, the lobster bisque was the best I ever had. Loved the fried green tomatoes. My friend got the goat cheese salad, be sure to ask for pine nuts. The crab cakes were perfect. And the bread pudding was incredible! Yes, I'm a little piggy, STOP JUDGING ME!

JP is an excellent server—polite, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We look forward to being seated at his table again when we come back for more of the mint chocolate mousse cake!
Service, food and beverages are always great and consistent otherwise they will make it right! No question asked….
The dessert special, mint chocolate mousse cake, was not as good as it used to be.
