After spending the day exploring the French Quarter, I was in search of a wallet-friendly and authentic dining experience. Just as I was heading to a neighboring restaurant, I stumbled upon a charming alleyway filled with lively music. This led me to a lovely courtyard with alfresco dining and a cozy bar. Despite not having a reservation, they managed to find me a spot on the patio. I began my meal with warm and tasty cornbread, followed by the most delectable salmon I have ever tasted. Have here mostly for lunch and had a GREAT enjoyable meal, but This past Sunday night was a nightmare. Had early reservation booked on open table) The music was so loud and pounding out heavy metal music which is not my type of music or enjoyable music to have a meal by. I witnessed two separate couples seated then get up and leave (which I wish I had done and assume was the music). My food was good, but at the end, I had a coupon from open table which applies to a booking you book. The waiter came back and told me he was going to apply it this time but the manager said they would not accept again. WHY TELL ME!!!! IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE A PART OF OPEN TABLE THEN GET OFF IT!!!!!
Was exhausted from a long day of sight seeing and almost didn?t make it to Sylvain?s, especially since they were so busy, they weren?t doing delivery. I am so glad I stumbled over because it was definitely one of the best meals I had in New Orleans! Came for the cornbread with spicy, honey butter (and gorgeous crust), stayed for the marvelous atmosphere and *talented* bar manager, Cynthia. I sat at the bar and despite handling multiple tables and orders at once, always madesure I was looked after. The salad with fried chicken was also super yummy with great textures? next time I?ll ask for dressing on the side.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed dining at Sylvain. It offers a perfect combination of hip vibes, unique decor, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food. I brought a large party here to celebrate a birthday, and the service from the wait staff was exceptional. Personally, I loved the pappardelle with bolognese sauce. I am already looking forward to returning. The drinks were also fantastic.
Pork loin, salad, grilled octopus appetizer and a beer all for under $100. We didn't have reservations so we opted for sitting at the bar, a few minutes wait. We could have sat outside in the courtyard, but as of late the temperature has been close to 100. All in all a pleasant dining experience.
Sunday lunch was great! Morgan was our server and she took great care of us. Offered great suggestions without being pushy. It was a great afternoon for outside dining. The food was excellent. The cocktails were great. The desserts were outstanding. I loved my chocolate pot a creme.

Food was good. Service was quite perfunctory. Like they didnât have time for us. I had indicated it was my birthday and nothing happened. Disappointing.
