Viseu is richer and more beautiful with Milita's tavern! The professionalism and kindness of the great chef Diogo Pereira, sun of Dª Milita, who inspired him to open a restaurant dedicated to her, gave us a wonderful meal and time! The bread baskets with traditional cloths appealed to us instantly :-D The place opened three years ago, and has been going from strength to strength. Smack in the historical area, a few metres from the city wall and 100 metres from the cathedral, it is right on the action zone. As a vegetarian, I recommend the salad tapas with fresh cheese and aromatic herbs, the grilled mushrooms or the cheese with honey, all delicious! I highly recommend this well recovered tav...
We came here for lunch by suggestion of the hotel where we stayed at. I asked for a bitoque , which is a fried slice of pork that usually comes with rice, fries, fried egg and some salad. This one was only meat and fries (the frozen kind . The meat was very tasty, true, but this was a disappointment. For dessert I had the leite creme , which was good. Towards the end of our meal the place was full of people from the offices nearby coming for lunch and the service slowed down a bit, but no big deal. One of waiters seemed to be the kind that avoids eye contact with the customers (boo! but the Brazilian lady was super professional and friendly.
The basis of this restaurant is what portuguese call petiscos (tapas like food, enhanced). However, the problem here were the inconsistencies with the food and service. We got a very bland steak with chips which were from a frozen brand, while I got a proper more regional dish. Didnt try petiscos as they were slight overpriced and didnt take the chance. On service I made a question regarding the dish and one of waiters looked at me as if i was dumb and said well the dish is whag it is, i waited, asked another, and i got a detailed info. You guys can improve. Safe restaurant, but dont let it slack.
Food is awesome, traditional Portuguese ambience where the owner attends you making sure everything is great! Perfect spot to experience some of the tastiest Portuguese food in Viseu. Highly recommended!! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Wow, what a night for great food and perfect hostmanship. We had the Naco de vitela and the pica pau. Both excellent medium/raw with great wine. Can not be better. Thank you! We will be back.
It was a really good surprise because i always passed by and never tought it was a good one. Sangria was the best in town!!!! Sandwiches and shitake omelet are great too. Recommended

Absolutely loved the pulpo Salat and goat cheese plate. They are ready for the English speakers. Good ambiance too!
