This place has gone downhill... I ordered online, got there and waited at the curbside spot (it says they're supposed to come out) for 5 minutes- nothing. Called, they said they were just wrapping it up and were gonna bring it out to me. 10 minutes go by- nothing. I get down and see my order has been left at the to-go spot getting cold. I pick it up, get my drinks and take it home. I find out they didn't put any of the things I checked for online in there. No limes, no salsitas, no cooked cebolla. Not even the sour cream and bacon bits that are supposed to come with the baked potato. Didnt even do the bare minimum. The place has like 10-15 people working at any given time, but they can never...
This place doesn't really have a drive thru. Every order you place at the drive thru, no matter how small, will have them charge your credit card and then drive around to some parking spots in front of the drive thru area, wait 5 to 10 minutes before they bring out your order along with several others that are waiting there as well. It almost seems like the staff doesn't want to walk outside more than once so they wait until 2 or 3 orders are ready.What happened to the times when they would actually give you your food at the window like a normal drive thru.This just shows lack of training and preparation from the staff, management and owners.
Things have taken a BIG turn. I have always enjoyed Taco P., now it does not taste as good anymore. The tortillas had an odd smell to them, which smelled like paper, or a wooden smell, the Pirata had no flavor, other than the paper taste, and the tortillas were burned. parts were cremated…. just didn’t smell/ taste right. The panchos honestly sucked, now I did order taco from here the other day, which was breakfast, the tortillas were undercooked, i asked for corn tortillas and they were raw. This chain has gone under.
I am a loyal customer to taco palenque , by far out of all locations in the RGV This location is the best. Service always on point. Food is on target . Every time I visit it’s so clean , I look around and the service reps are always stopping by asking if they may be of any assistance. They are always cleaning it. Their caldo de res is the ugliest tasting caldo de res I have ever had! Meat was super hard, Broth had no taste, Carrots overcooked, calabacitas were super hard (not cooked) garbanzos were peeling of their skin (overcooked)…… SUPER EXPENSIVE though, $13.00 after taxes! Never again! I don’t recommend their caldo de res!
I want to say the customer service is very good at this place. From when we order to getting a bag and a lid to carry leftovers home.
I ordered a caldo de res and when I got home it only had carrots the little bowl of rice! What a rip off!
