Was very surprised to see so many negative reviews on this place lately. Not gonna lie, it 'allmoosst deterred us from trying them out, but we decided to give it a shot in the dark anyway. And I 'm honestly glad we did~ I mean- the prices are a little steep (but in today 's world, that 's to be expected).Anyways... I made an order for pickup around 1pm on a Thursday. Walked in to the restaurant being a little over half full with groups of people on their lunch breaks from Denver Health local small businesses. Low key joint on south Sheridan. Probably no more than 15 seats inside, most customers were eating big meals and drinking. Most conversation in Spanish. Stopped for some tacos and a margarita on a hot day. Very friendly service, huge marg, great tacos. The pickled red onions are, as far as I know, not standard to birria tacos and were a nice welcome bit of crunch and acidity. My only *very* slight complaint is that we weren't warned that happy hour started in two minutes so we paid for two margaritas when it would have been 2/1 two minutes later, but that's on me for not noticing (and that's all done on a computer anyways no one's fault but my own). I give a strong endorsement for this place...
The food is good here at Taco Unico. I had the steak enchiladas. My only complaint was that my waitress was a little busy on her personal call to see if I needed anything else (like more soda… ? ? . Maybe she was looking out for my health. ? I totally understand if you have to take a personal phone call but she was on that call for the entire 45mins I was at the restaurant. ?I would recommend this place and would eat here again, I just hope I have a better experience my next go round.
Me and my husband ordered carne asada fries. It was absolutely disgusting. We took one bite of the food and immediately almost threw up. There's no prices on the menu. The waitress was aware of our situation and didn't offer a solution besides the receipt. I have been back 3X in the last month. I love the birria tacos and the salsas but most of all, the woman who provides the service is so wonderful and kind, as is her daughter who is often around! It’s become one of my favorite places for a bite and makes me happy to support such wonderful people Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
beautiful to find this hidden gem in lakewood! the waitress was super friendly, eating was delicious and surprisingly affordable! best chicharrón burrito I ate in colorado. can't wait to go back!
Service Was absolutely fabulous. We split fajitas and street tacos, both were hot and delicious. The margaritas were very weak, that's my only complaint considering they cost $15.
