The smell alone is amazing when you pull in their parking lot!! I ordered a California Burrito with carne asada. Most of the meat was chopped extremely small almost like ground beef. It was tasty though! Came with french fries inside the burrito like a true California Burrito should. It was a lot smaller than burritos at other shops around Springfield. I had their avocado salsa to go with it. Not spicy at all. It was a little pricey in my opinion. I ordered a California burrito and a large Pineapple water and spent $16 and some change.
I really enjoy their tacos and so I love Mondays and Thursdays when they are discounted. They have an enormous number of different meats to choose from, (I believe they had 20 when we were last in) including some meats that are just daily specials. The staff is friendly and the place is small but somewhat charming. Oh and their guacamole is my favorite over anywhere else.
An amazing small taco place that serves amazing things beyond tacos. I highly recommend the birria and barbacoa tacos with grilled onions and no cilantro. Their tamales are amazing as well. They aim to please and they have a frequent visitors punch card. They receive a 9.3 out of 10 on my taco scale.
To put it simply, Mexican is my favourite cuisine, and Tacos El Gordo is my ABSOLUTE favourite place to get it. You will NEVER be disappointed by this authentic Mexican cuisine! This the the BEST place in town for tacos! They have every kind of taco not just beef or chicken..lol. They have a full menu, Their prices are excellent and the food is always fresh and delicious! What are waiting for?? Get to Tacos El Gordo!Food: 5/5
They are authentic. They are fast. They are amazing people with a heart for our community! I don't exaggerate when I say they are the only authentic place I've seen or had in decades here. Reasonable prices too and MASSIVE amounts of food with meals!
FABULOUS! This was our first time visiting. The margaritas were amazing. The food was so delicious, the portions were so big , we have enough for another meal. We will definitely eat here again soon!!
