I've been a fan of Tacos Guanajuato (aka Tacos G in Kildeer since it first opened a few years ago. The decor is bright cheerful, staff are always helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious.I typically will get an Al Pastor taco at any new place I try as that's sort of my benchmark, and because it typically packs more flavor than some other typical offerings at Mexican taco places.The Al Pastor taco at Tacos G is one of the best around, with an incredibly savory sauce and of course including the signature grilled pineapple on top, along with shredded jicama, some diced onion and cilantro. The food was terrible. The steak tasted like dog food or old meat that had been marinated to mask its flavor. The rice and beans had an odd taste as well, and the taco shells crumbled immediately. When I brought my concerns to the manager, he insisted they stand by their food and refused to issue a refund. I requested a refund since I didn’t want to try anything else, but he told me I needed to bring back the leftovers to get my money back. I had paid before tasting the food and only had 20 minutes to eat, so I managed to eat just one taco before I had to return to work. He essentially dismissed my concerns. This restaurant isn't your typical Mexican eatery, but it has a fantastic atmosphere. They offer a sit-down bar and outdoor seating, which adds to the experience. I tried the three taco meal, and it was quite tasty. However, I wish the food had been served hotter instead of lukewarm. The tacos were unique in that the tortillas were a bit thicker and they only used one instead of two, which held up nicely. Normally, I stick to just cilantro and onions on my tacos, but this place had its own toppings for each taco. I decided to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by the result!
If you've passed by this place countless times without giving it a shot, you absolutely must stop in! The gourmet food here is incredible! The tacos are out of this world—I'm especially fond of the Chorizo and Fish tacos. The ambiance is also quite pleasant. You might not anticipate much from this location, but don't let that deter you! Great food! Absolutely delicious Mexican food. I will only give it a 3 star because of the waitress. The waitress was very slow and forgot to bring us silverware, small serving plates or sauces for the two visits we had. One time she sat down to chat with another worker in the restaurant and totally forget about our order until we remind her. We hesitate to come to this restaurant because of the below average service
I've visited this restaurant numerous times and will continue to return. I absolutely love it—especially the margaritas, which are the best I've ever tasted. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The only downside is that the service can be slow, but I've noticed it has been getting better. Food: 5/5
Pretty authentic in my opinion! Food was great! I had a steak torta and a taco...the three sauces they bring to the table were also amazing! I'd come back. Some reviews had complaints on the price points but sometimes spending a few extra bucks is worth a solid meal.
