The restaurant is small and hasn’t got fancy decor but you won’t find a better meal at such an affordable price in Dickson. The Tak Kee Roast Inn has just been a go-to place for me when I visit Canberra. I will be there within a day of arriving, will buy a roast duck or two, and share with friends. My recent trip there saw me also pick up some of their sauce and pancakes at the suggestion of my god daughter. Why go there? Well they serve the best duck outside of Hong Kong as far as I'm concerned, and besides, where I do live I can't get it at all. I'm glad they have been in business as long as they have. I am always worried that one day they won't be there. Looking forward to my next trip, and just thinking about being there again. Its cheaper to travel there to have a decent meal than to keep heading back to HK....
I dined with a friend on a quiet Tuesday evening and was not disappointed. Food was good, prices reasonable and service fast and attentive. Plenty of local food options as well as some more daring, though traditional choices.Not sure but the place may have been renovated recently. I do remember an older looking place with ducks in the window. The atmosphere is bright, happy and modern. Recommended and will return.
This restaurant is probably the best roast duck in Canberra.Being grown and lived in Hong Kong, roast duck is always my favourite.Hard to find a good place to eat roast duck since the process of making roast duck required lots of experience and right recipes.Tak Kee had impressed me with the authentic roast duck and the price is super affordable too!! I would highly recommend to all the duck lovers!!

Went to this busy restaurant for Roast Duck last week. It was of a very good quality - although the skin could have been crisper, it was moist, meaty, succulent duck. We requested a dipping sauce and were given a mild plum sauce. The Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce was fresh and well cooked. An excellent, well priced dining experiance.
Love the food here it is made fresh daily and is authentic to HongKong/Guangdong food. Prices are OK and the BBQ meats are delicious. My favourite for value is the combination won ton soup.
I take my kids when I go here so they can see the impressive chopping of duck and pork! It's always friendly service, authentic food and I'm often offered tastings which is always welcome!
Fast service. Used to be better but still good. Noodles used to be "ala dente" which was nice ...but not anymore. Maybe new chef....or different noodle supplier? Love their roast duck.

In Canberra there are may very good Chinese restaurants. This is one in Dickson and I like the first rate duck dishes (also to take away) and the Won-Ton noodles and Gow Gee Soup.
The roast duck with dry noodles was excellent. One of the best in Australia. THe meal comes with complimentary chinese tea which is nice touch. Very enjoyable lunch.
