We come here a lot for cheap meals and free green tea. The katsu chicken and karaage chicken are favourites, although hit and miss as they precook large batches. So if you’re lucky, you’ll get crunchy, moreish, flavourful fried chicken. If you’re not, then it’ll be cold, oily and a bit soggy. Ah well. So far it’s been 50:50. Katsu-dons are warmed up/freshly prepared so generally better if you like hot chicken. <br/ <br/ Sushi is so-so. Tempura is pleasant. Udon noodles are mediocre. Teriyaki tofu and chicken is alright. Miso Katsu chicken comes with a lovely sauce but it can be a little too salty. Most meals come with rice, shredded cabbage and pickles. The rice can be really dry so a saucie...
Taka is, in my opinion, one of the best Japanese restaurants in the city. It's also very reasonably priced, and the portion sizes are quite generous! Whenever I visit, I always order the Karaage chicken, which comes with rice and miso soup. I highly recommend this dish because the chicken is consistently cooked to perfection, and you can help yourself to a variety of sauces. If you’re not in the mood for the Karaage chicken, I also suggest trying the Chicken Katsu or the Katsu Don—they're both excellent choices!
The food here is quick, affordable, and tasty. I ordered the small Agedashi Tofu for takeaway, which cost $6.70 and was a good portion. The food was ready quickly and served hot. The staff were friendly and courteous. There's ample seating available, though it tends to fill up during busy hours. They also offer complimentary self-serve hot tea.
Taka is my all time favourite place to go to. I have been here many times! Efficient service with their buzzer system, attentive staff, and a restaurant with many seatings! Food is very good and tasty especially considering the price! The food is very cheap for lunch and will definitely leave you feeling full. Also the setting is somewhat like a school lunch setting where you grab your food, find a seat, eat, then leave
I absolutely love their Japanese curry with chicken karrage. The portion is ok and value for money for what you get. The portion you get with the chicken karrage meal is quite generous. This joint is perfect for students and those on a budget.
I tried nearly all the dishes, and I enjoyed every one of them. However, my favorite is the chicken karage. The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Perth City.
