I've been working in the neighborhood for few months now and just now discovering this gem. Initially wanted to grab some sushi for lunch and ended up here and had much better experience. Takuma is authentic Japanese restaurant with great service and unforgettable food. I was a little overwhelmed with the menu at first because I wasn't aware of any food but ended up having the best meal. We started with bottle of sake and beer. Sashimi was super fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced 20 for three fish sashimi three pieces each . Hand rolls are to die for, I recommend yellowtail. This review is for the soupy, tasteless Hawaiian teriyaki chicken with a mauve hue and the woman working the front counter who couldn't have been more miserable, telling me she couldn't give me my order by just a name but then handing me a bag and confirming it's the right order by using JUST a name........no. I wish it was harder for her to find my bag amongst the two that were sitting there. Maybe the other food items are good but absolutely will not deal with this attitude again.
Wow! I visited this restaurant after seeing the great reviews on Yelp, and it did not disappoint. My favorites? It’s a Japanese restaurant. My partner ordered the chicken curry, which was delicious—perfectly seasoned and had a rich curry flavor. I had the salmon bento box, and I was truly impressed by the presentation of the various dishes. The salmon, which was the star of the meal, was absolutely fantastic. I really wish this place was closer to where we live!
It seems we visited at an unfortunate time. Our meal was messy; the California hand roll contained mostly crab meat with no sweetness, and the soup consisted solely of noodles and broth. This is a truly authentic Japanese izakaya offering traditional cuisine. The owner is very friendly, and the staff is equally welcoming. The food is delicious, and there's an excellent selection of beer and other beverages. The menu does change periodically, but some items remain constant. The overall atmosphere is great!
First time having cold noodles but it was great. Was great to try something new. Definitely want to come back and try the other stuff they have on their menu. Their peach soju drink was bomb!
While not having the usual nigiri or specialty rolls, EVERYTHING they do make is excellent. Small space, with simple and elegant atmosphere. A lovely Japanese restaurant. Very welcoming.

Great service and fish is so fresh. Their menu is huge. Even you don't eat sushi you Van find something in the menu you'd like. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
