We went here for dinner over the long weekend, around about 7:30pm.It cost us $44 for fish and chips and a shnitty with topping. This also included salad bar.My fish and chips came out cold and his schnitzel was small and apparently tasted cheap. Not what we were expecting to come out after paying $44I wasn't able to finish my cold fish so I tried the salad bar to fill me up. Being towards what looked like the end of their serving night, there was little left to select from. There were roasted potatoes (that were also cold), sloppy beans, tired salad and not much else. A real letdown with a recent meal. Should have left when we could.Food in Bain Marees was far from correct temperature and as such we really limited ourselves. All you can eat is not much good when all of the food looks and tastes poor.The soup was so thick and gloopy. Fish was tasteless, Salt and pepper squid was from a box, I'm sure. Desserts looked fine but close your eyes and you couldn't tell the flavour.Complained about temperature to be told 'we check them regularly' Doesn't matter if they're wrong and are not at correct temperature. Not good enough by far!
We visited this bistro on Tues 02/05/17 and were very disappointed. We had previously eaten at the Bistro in March 2017 and found it delightful and were looking forward to going there again but we were so disappointed with the food.We had prawn and calamari combo and curried sausages with mash.the sausages were fine but the accompanying gravy was so thick and gluggy. The combo left a very oily taste after eating. The hot food in the baine Marie was cool not at all hot. After looking forward to enjoying a nice meal there we left feeling most let down.
Traveling in the Clare region and came here twice in a week. Great pub but im afraid the food service is second rate. Every time we asked for info from the people who served us it seemed that they were doing someone else's job and didn't know anything about it. Inconsistent serving sizes for the same meals, had to ask for condiments twice and meals served at different times. After two chances no improvement. The Clare area is supposed to excel in this area but it didn't for us in this pub.

This pub boasts the biggest indoor playground we've seen at a restaurant. We arrived an hour before dinner service and the playground kept our 6yo and 3yo happy all that time. The food is average buffet fare: soup and veg in bainmarie, salad bar and dessert bar, plus pub mains and kids' menu. Don't expect too much in the culinary stakes but it might well suit your needs if you have young kids.
Friday night happy hour does not extend to the bar staff. We would have stayed a lot longer but the attitude of the bar staff and lack of service made it a pleasure to move on. Very disappointed with our visit and we won't be back. It's called the hospitality industry and unfortunately we got completely inhospitable treatment. Give this place a wide berth if you enjoy country pubs
This place is a dud. The food is overpriced and awful and the service is abysmal. Disinterested and rude staff. We have tried here a couple of times to see if maybe it was a once off, but unfortunately it is obvious that nothing has improved. The Bentleys up the road is a far superior choice.
We had meals in this venue on two different occassions. The dining room is lovely with attentive service from the waitresses. The meals were very good pub food and the soup,salad,vegetable and dessert bar was a very welcome addition The $17 meal on Thursday night was great value and quality.

I had lunch here at a very budget price and this place is great for kids as they have a huge indoor play area. Very trendy place with a great variety of food. It has a buffet that you can get salad or veges from.
Inexpensive meals. Good kids playground. Food ok, salad bar quite extensive. Would have been good to see some more healthier choices for kids meals.
