The staff at Tang Maru 탕마루 are friendly and welcoming. Although the interior is a bit dated and worn, it has a nostalgic charm that adds to the experience. Evenings can get somewhat noisy due to customers drinking, but it doesn’t detract from the overall atmosphere. I usually order the medium or large gamjatang, which comes in a huge portion with a rich, flavorful broth. They provide plenty of side dishes and are generous with refills for both the sides and the broth. When I get takeout, I appreciate that they pack the meat and broth separately.
