Taris on the Water

This was our first dinner out after restrictions and it was our Anniversary. We weren't sure if the weather would be OK but it was sunny and breezy. Patio was beautiful with tent roofing to keep out the non-existent rain, and of course, the...view of the bridge and water is refreshing. Everyone from hostess to waitress and owner were trying so hard to make it a friendly, safe experience (even if they were masked). Tables were well spaced and we never felt unsafe. We had the filet mignon (cooked just as we asked), Taris greens, Sangria (perfect for the warm day), and shared a New York cheesecake. Wonderful meal and celebration for us.

Booked day of the patio opening and got to finally enjoy a Taris meal and view again after months of Covid shutdown. Reno/updated patio space nice. Service good. Started with the anti-pasto and mezze apps a bottle of Tom Gore Cab. All very...good. Ordered the Welland Good Bowl with Chicken and the Roasted Supreme Chicken (first time we tired both of these dishes). Mains were fantastic and we'd order them again. We've typically ordered the Filet Mignon in the past but we enjoyed changing things up this visit. We'll be back soon.

Had lunch with a friend on the patio. The views of Canal Bridge and the Old Welland Canal are excellent and the meal was not that bad either. Had the fish tacos nicely presented. They were lightly fried, accompanied by pico de gallo...and a spicy mayo, the strength of the condiments a bit muted for my taste. It was lovingly washed down with a oz Megalomaniac Narcissist riesling, crisp and light. Only the cappuccino disappointed, both my friend and I finding it lacking.

I was really impressed with Taris. They have a great patio overlooking the canal. People in kayaks and paddle boards floating by. patio is covered and you dont have those goofy small umbrellas) Food is awesome. Calamari was great and fish tacos were amazing....Wifey had vegan meal and gave it the thumbs up. Inside is really nice. great decor and they have a party room downstairs. Patio was busy, we dined on a Friday night, server was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was average in our opinion, not overly delicious and overpriced for the serving size. We ordered mussels for app and they were very good and hot. Each had q glass...of wine and were not asked size and both charged for which we didn't expect, surely some would mind, we didn't.

Considering the times and covid requiring a reduced menu-you hardly notice. The food was delicious, the atmosphere delightful with the bridge lighting up as dusk falls and the service top-rate. We had the Chicken Supreme, Fish and Chips, Cornish hen with mac cheese on...the side and Ribs with fries on the side.

Cozy restaurant with nice view and friendly service. The drink menu had a good variety of cocktails, craft beers and wine. Appetizers were tasty, the bacon wrapped shrimp and Cornish hen dishes we ordered were perfectly cooked and delicious. Will be back!

We continue to have a fantastic experience at Taris on the Water. The gluten free Fish Frites, which my wife adores, are worth the drive. We shared a Ceasar salad and I had the Lettuce Wrap with Beef. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Always love dining here, always out on the wonderful, big patio. Service is fantastic (seem to always have Karen as our server Food is delicious, wine is divine. Ambiance is perfect.

My wife and I split a burger and chicken tenders here. They made a simple meal taste like a world class cuisine. Well done.
